is it safe to remove the REJECT files?

i've been playing around with oblige lately (with the ObAddon enhancement mod enabled) and it's all well and good, but i noticed the wad sizes are regularly over 100mb, when opening it up, i noticed each wad has a load of REJECT files with around 1 - 3.4mb sizes. from what it sounds like, the file has to do with speeding up loading but i don't have lots of space, is it safe to remove this?

If you play with GZDoom, you can remove them safely. With vanilla, Choco, PrBoom, etc. you'll get an abort because the engine expects to find this lump when loading a level and errors out if it's missing.
