vanilla_d00m Posted July 5, 2020 (edited) I still have this on my e-mail, last I checked they removed it so you can't get it anymore unless someone shares it with you. What do you think of this one? For me.. the controls threw me off big time, even the PSX one felt better for me. The chain-gun in this ported game for some reason I like, it has 2 different sound fx coming out of it. Moustachio Posted July 5, 2020 I like that they organized the Master Levels into one continuous set of levels. Other than that, the current PS4/Xbox One/Switch release is superior in every aspect. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Labryx Posted July 6, 2020 I remember playing co-op with my brother in this port and using the plasma rifle would blow out our eardrums whenever we were close to each other while using it. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
vanilla_d00m Posted July 6, 2020 (edited) I don't know anything about the PS4 one since I don't have it, I think sony should have stopped on 3. Well this port has really low music and even lowering the sound fx and putting the music volume on max didn't do much. The sound pitch is also like doom95. I actually just deleted it today, the PC one is the way to go. Edited July 6, 2020 by vanilla_d00m 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Eurisko Posted July 7, 2020 PS3 had Doom classic complete right? Has that been removed? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

That version has the variation in pitch with sound effects and it's very noticeable when you're using the chaingun and plasma rifle 10 hours ago, Eurisko said: PS3 had Doom classic complete right? Has that been removed? Yes, it's no longer available but if you bought it back then you can still access it on your PS3 now. That collection was delisted last year but you can still get it on Steam. https://store.steampowered.com/sub/18397/ 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

The Add-ons feature on the new ports has made this idea pretty redundant now. Edited July 9, 2020 by Eurisko 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
KainXavier Posted July 9, 2020 Unless I'm mistaken, the Steam version of DOOM Classic Complete is just the original DOS release running in DOSBox. The PS3 version of the game is based on the Xbox 360 port, and it features unlockable trophies no other version of the game has. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Silverforte Posted July 9, 2020 It's solid. The best thing about the port is the master levels are one continuous wad. I find the input delay to be better than the current gen ports, but it does suffer from weird stutters during gameplay, particularly when opening the map. Also split screen has insane lag for some reason. I prefer the xbox 360 ports to it, although for final doom and master levels I'd play it over the current gen ports. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
