Unknow Actor

hi,i actually made a doom mod that has a rifle

the weird thing i named the actor Rifle

and i tried to summon one but it gives me : unknow actor, and i typed the right actor

 

please help me!!!

Is it from a website called Realm667?

 

If so then you are dealing with a Decorate issue, basically any custom weapons have there own special number that needs to be added to it in order for it to show up ingame, The most common number is 666 for most stuff since no other Doom asset uses that number, this will only show up in Your Doom map Maker if it is set to Doom in Hexen, Or UDMF.

 

To add the number or find out where it is open the wad using Slade or whatever else wad opener there is:

It will be in the last colume called DECORATE, If you did it right there will be a place-able spawner for the map

How did you make the rifle?

What mapping format are you using?

Which port are mapping for?

 

To alleviate any guessing work it would be best if you upload your pwad.

 

I would say that you have made an error somewhere. :)

If done properly, summoning an actor would work without a problem.

 

What Morpheus666 is referring to is an actor made with DECORATE

For example the Rifle from REALM667 Armoury:

As is, this rifle can be summoned in game.

However, to place it into your map so that the editor can use it, you have to give it a unique DoomED number.

any unused number would be okay, for example: Actor Rifle : Weapon 15555
