Custom sprites showing up in editor but not in-game.

Question

I'm having a problem where I've imported sprites meant to replace the front 3 angles of the wolfenstein guard enemy, and they're showing up in the editor (though not in 3d mode) but they aren't showing up in the game.

I used Slade to export the 3 sprites I wanted to edit: SSWVA1, SSWVA2, and SSWVA8. I made the edits, put them back into slade, and coverted them into doom's graphics format. I then put them into the wad with the map I'm working on. Here's a screenshot of that.

(all 3 edited sprites are of this same clown)

I then opened GZDoom Builder and saw this so I thought "ok it's worked" and I immediately pressed the test map button.

But when I tried to look at it in game the clown didn't show. Instead those 3 angles of the SS guard were just blank. Circling around the guard showed that all the other angles were fine. Also in the 3d view of GZDoom Builder the sprite doesn't show up. Does anybody know why this is happening / how to fix it? This is really confusing me.

Which port are you using? This looks like it should work - between markers, converted to Doom format, correct sprite names. I'm curious to know why it's not working (it'll be something obvious).

Can you flick us a link to the wad?

yeah sure, also I'm using GZDoom to test the map btw.

I put what's supposed to be a clown directly in front of the player when you spawn in. (if you walk directly forward you will bump into in a second)

Oh wow, that was something obvious. Thank you though! It's good to know I had the method of putting things into doom right.

For simple things it's always something obvious. Just a note - if you are targeting GZDoom by including UDMF maps then you don't need to convert to Doom format. GZDoom can read truecolor PNGs.

Well, this is my first wad and I'm mainly making it as a joke for a friend who uses LZDoom so I'm going for compatibility where I can
