Calling up interest for Linux source porting

Hi all,

 

I come from a computer science background and have been studying Doom, Doom 2 and the Ultimate Doom since the games were ported to Linux through wine. I would welcome ideas for source porting Doom 3 to wine, so people can play this game on Core Intel and maybe AMD processors.

 

This would have to delve into the binary in the existing Windows 10 Steam version. Otherwise, if one has the original PC game on a legacy (or older) computer, we could analyze the binary from that version and determine porting capabilities to wine. Then, once the binary works for wine, people from Apple macOS and Ubuntu or Debian linux can enjoy the game again, from a refreshed perspective.
