MikeyScoots Posted July 18, 2020 (edited) Hey everyone, recently decided to take a gander at creating a texture pack and started off by snipping bits and pieces from video game backgrounds. One in particular was Spiderman: Maximum Carnage. This is my 1st attempt and Im still working out the kinks on getting the objects outline clear so i can add those, but anyone whose ever wanted to make a comic or marvel or spider-man theme'd level can do so without going through numerous texture packs! Get it here! (UPDATED 7/21/20) VERSION V1.1 https://drive.google.com/file/d/12-Wc1XuijpPrIIOJ35GEfVg4hqtwuK_Q/view?usp=sharing Edited July 21, 2020 by MikeyScoots 21 Quote Share this post Link to post
elend Posted July 19, 2020 Nice, I'll check this out, once my VPN works and I can access googledrive. I was thinking many times, that one could rip textures from random 2D games with neat backround tile graphics. Looks interesting. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Maximum Matt Posted July 19, 2020 Maximum Carnage Doom. I like it 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Big Ol Billy Posted July 19, 2020 Cool! SNES-style/cartoony pixel art textures are a largely untapped resource (save for some well-known Super Mario World-inspired projects), as far as I can tell. But then in-engine shots here look great and have a really distinct look! Hope you do more of these :) 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Final Verdict Posted July 19, 2020 More texture packs for variety are always a good thing. Good work, I could see these being used in a secret level. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
MikeyScoots Posted July 19, 2020 Appreciate the feedback everyone. Im wrapping up Scoots Dm but we are adding a Maximum Carnage theme'd level before release :). If anyone would like to give it a go themselves I used all images provided here: https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/spidermancarnage/ Scoots Dm II is already being planned out so I'll be ripping the other stages from that, as well as other super hero theme'd games in the future. Stay tuned :) 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
