how to run sunlust

Hey so i just downloaded sunlust and i dont know how to acually run it.  I have zdoom installed but im not sure if that will work.  If someone could walk me through it that would be great thanks

ZDoom should work. What I do is click and drag the PWAD (sunlust.wad in this case) into the .exe file (zdoom.exe in this case). I'm not entirely sure how ZDoom does it from here, but with GZDoom a window pops up and tells you to select the IWAD you want to use (Doom 2 in this case).

here is what i have so far.  I put the sunlust wad into the zdoom folder which i just downloaded from there website but still no luck

What I mean isn't just to click and drag sunlust.wad into the same folder, but literally drag it onto gzdoom.exe as you see it in that screenshot. It's the one with the "G" icon.

If i drag the WAD file onto gzdoom i get this message that pops up

You need the most important thing first, the Doom 2 IWAD to run the game and to be recognized by the port in question. Then you can drag & drop the file, select the Doom 2 IWAD and you're good to go.

Yeah, it looks like you don't have the IWADs. You can buy Doom 2 on Steam or elsewhere and then you'll have doom2.wad, which is the file you need.

Alternatively, Freedoom Phase 2 can be used in place of doom2.wad.

I do have doom 2 i acually got sunlust to run using a older version of zdoom but i have no audio.  If i put the new version of zdoom into the doom 2 base folder, then go to open sunlust with it i get this error message.

I suggest to make different folders for every port. That happens if you mix files for the ports.

Have you tried putting doom2.wad into the GZDoom folder? It looks like an earlier error message recommended that.
