Share your map/WAD titles!

Some of you may have seen @iUsuallyDie's topic How do you name your maps/wads?, well I decided to make this! Here, you can share your idea for map and megawad names for those that have trouble coming up with their own. You can share the theme or setting of which these maps/WADs are supposed to take place in, but don't get too carried away, save your Mod ideas for the Stupid Mod idea Thread or the Post your mod/WAD idea thread. Don't use a name of an already published megawad. You can use title generator apps, but wouldn't that take the fun out of it? You can share the name of an already published map as long as it is a simple name like Abyss, not something like Rat Cheese and Lemon Citrus (not an actual example. Be creative, and share as many names as you would like. 

 

An idea for a map name I have is Ordeal of the Devil for a hell map, or Starry Quarry on the Brink of Heaven for a tunnel map.

 

This thread is made for people that have trouble giving names to their WADs, so I expect somebody to take your name. If you are planning on using that name in a future WAD, and want to share it because it is an excellent name, please specify that so people know not to use it. You can also make templates for people to use to help them come up with their own names. Any name is allowed, even joke ones. Have fun!

• Aloominium Phoyle (a smart aleck silver-y adventure)
• Torrid, Frigid, What's The Difference (lava vs. water)
• Cybie Day Care (guess who you're "taking care of")
• Honey Mountain Dew In Paradise (think the poem "Kubla Khan" but in a run 'n' gun style and flow)
• Ceci n'est pas une PIPEWAL1 (anywhere that's not a sewer)
• Ending Of The Words Is Oremor (Romero-style occult cult base with esoteric themes/puzzles)
• Find Replace Extra Deimos Demons Yearly (Ultimate Doom-style lunar techbase with a newsroom and a secret named Freddy)
• Watashi wa Karisumancubus Desu (who said mancubi and weaboos don't mix?)
• Illuminated Book of Kills (a not-so-right monastery with tech lighting)
• Pelagic Petrification (fossilized pools, beach, and watery expanse)

Any of these are free for the taking. If anyone here makes a map using one of these names, feel free to quote me so I can give attribution.

The map I'm going to make next was supposed to be called Toxi-City due to being a city map with lots of nukage, but I decided to name it something else, so you can have it. Doomitories is another map name I will not have a chance to use any time soon.

I was workshopping "political" titles and a text completion "ai" spat out Soy Powered, meh. The ai also gave Space Gorilla or something like that, but I think Space Force Ape has a better ring to it. However, some might be reminded of Heinlein and scream fascist, which is funny because, allegedly, only Libertarians read him anymore. Then again, there are some who see Libertarians (and Anarchists) as the most authoritarian people alive. Well, maybe a Blue-Pilled Libertarian. Taking lines from US Presidential Debates and such is easy, but most don't really lead themselves to levels that well. Love Mandates and Please Clap could be something though. Also, Presidential quote Haters and Losers could be a level that's just pain elementals and lost souls (MAP45 btw.) Has Real Communism been tried yet? Also Everywhere Midwits might work for something. I guess I could always use what's slowly becoming my catchphrase: Statism is a Hell of a Drug, but that's a little long, might be better to just say Papa State (Alternatively Daddy Government, but the former is most succinct.)

 

I've had an idea for a megawad title, but I'm probably not going to make one anytime soon, so might as well share it: Lawful Fighting-Man. Could make it a series of episodes with color names, because the black flag comes in Many Colors.

I'm working on a multi-map WAD that has a bunch of short adjectives for titles:

• Stranded
• Cornered
• Lost
• Boarded
• Trapped
• Buried
• Cratered
• Eroded

I'm not sure I'm in love with the gimmick anymore, since they all seem to run together.

are right-libertarians really that dumb that they read the works of a man who wanted a global, centralized military state lmao

 

anyways, i was unironically thinking of naming one of my maps "generic techbase #7329", but i never finished that map sooooo yeah xd

That feels like a bad take, one should especially read the works of those they disagree with. How does one grow as a person without challenging themselves and their beliefs every now and again?
