if it's a corrupted save its likely you'll have to delete the save for that playthrough and start again.

Corrupted saves are a nightmare.

In that case then I'd try a completely fresh install of the game.

like uninstall then reinstall? because that didn't work as well

uninstall, delete all folders related to the game, and then reinstall.

I believe that skins, podiums, and other cosmetics are tied to the Bethesda account that you initially linked to Steam and not any local save file (redeeming rewards from Twitch / Slayer's Club / other Doom games requires linking to your Bethesda account after all). I imagine a complete wipe would likely only lose your campaign progress.

A thread on the Steam forums [thread] shows a user had a similar error message like yours, but apparently theirs "fixed itself" with time. According to a Reddit post [thread], deleting save files doesn't affect milestone rewards either.

You don't need to uninstall/reinstall. Just go to <Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\782330\remote\ and delete the save data there. You can also use this location frequently of course to back up saves that are working well. I also highly recommend  a W10 SFC scan any time you have a problem with file corruption, whether in a game or not.

Follow these steps exactly to make sure the system image file is restored before running the scan.

It should have though. If manually deleting the save causes you to still have such problems though, you may need to temporarily disable cloud saving, then delete it, then reboot. Note however if you do, it's unlikely it will ever fix itself eventually as it has for some.

I'll just reset my PC. if it doesn't work, then I'll stick with console

That statement makes it obvious it could be a number of problems, mostly regarding user error. Not everyone can adapt to the complexity of PC gaming.

It worked. I didn't even have to reset my PC, I just fixed it.

I kinda forgot the order to fix it, but hopefully, it's correct:

Step 1: Steam > right click DOOM Eternal > Properties > Updates > Uncheck Steam Cloud > Close it

Step 2: Steam Folder>userdata>user-id>782330>remote> Delete the GAME-AUTOSAVES file except PROFILE (deleting the GAME-AUTO SAVES file will lose all campaign progress except your skins and profile level, etc.)

Step 3: Restart PC > Open DOOM Eternal > Open Campaign > Start a new campaign > Enjoy

Step 4: Once you're done, close the game. then open Steam > right click DOOM Eternal > Properties > Updates > check Steam Cloud > they will tell you which save cloud to upload I think, but choose the new file

That's exactly what I told you to do above...

"If manually deleting the save causes you to still have such problems though, you may need to temporarily disable cloud saving, then delete it, then reboot."

So your saying you just fixed it is a bit of a stretch.
