Classic Doom advertising magazine?

Hey dudes. When Doom was new, me and my brother bought some pc magazine which included a separate magazine with Doom advertising. The front page was black with the classic Doom logo and a demon face. 

 

Inside there was tons of terrific screenshots from the episode 1. There was some funny captions as well, but the only one I can remember is that the chaingun was referred to as "the doomers best friend".  

 

The whole thing was probably 5-7 pages long. 

 

I would love to take a look at it again. Any knew know what I'm talking about?

Are you sure a magazine from the mid-1990s used a term like "Doomer"?

Why not? The term was in use then. I recall a guy at the Compuserve Action Games Forum went by the name "Phil Doomer", and I don't recall anyone expressing astonishment at this avant garde use of the word. That was probably in 1995.

I'm not sure but that's the way I remember it.

It was at the absolute latest in use by 1999, as a certain someone used "DOOMER" in their screen name, but I suspect it was in use before that.

Well, that's a personal nickname, but Doomer as a term for Doom players when the game was all new feels anachronistic somehow. Of course I could be wrong.

Anyway, that advertising mag sounds interesting.

The thing is that the magazine might as well been a review of the game. As I said this was when I was between 8-9 years old and since I'm a swede I wasn't extremely fluid in English at the time. Yes, the whole thing was in English. 

 

Me and my brother just looked at and drooled all over it. So what I do remember is that caption and I'm fairly certain that it stated "Doomers".  But I might be wrong if course. But I called myself a Quaker as soon as 1997 and I'm sure I used Quaker from Doomer and I don't think I came up with Doomer myself.

I remember someone describing themselves to me as a "fellow doomer" even before I got online so probably around 1995 to early 1997.
