Skootroot Posted September 3, 2020 Im planning on making a Silent Hill like map in Doom and was wondering if it's possible to make the map foggy like in the game: 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
snapshot Posted September 3, 2020 (edited) You can use outsidefog MAPINFO property, and you can set it manually per sector (or to all tagged sectors depending on the method you use) This covers all the ways you can use to do it. Gez Posted September 3, 2020 There are several ways to generate fog effects in GZDoom. Besides the obvious of using the fog properties, you can also use non-solid 3D floors, or place a bunch of translucent fog cloud actors, etc. It's also possible to combine several methods; for example Hexen in its fog levels also use fog cloud actors. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

And it is even easier when mapping in UDMF. Edited September 4, 2020 by Kappes Buur 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Gez Posted December 3, 2020 In UDMF you don't need a script to set a sector's fade color; it's right in the properties. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

But for vanilla/boom maps, you can change the colormap to another one that simulates fog (like hexen) 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
