does any of you know the BEST way to make custom monsters in classic doom?

It depends on how much compatibility you are looking for, if you are looking to do something that works in everything, Dehacked is for you

Not possible.

That is exactly why DECORATE was invented in ZDoom.

If you only want to have a couple of new monsters, you can replace the Commander Keen and SS Nazi and keep all of the regular demons. Many projects do this. But yeah, if you want to have a lot of new stuff while keeping the stock enemies, Decorate or ZScript is best.

The only way is to replace the sprites, possible with Slade3, and alter their behaviour with WhackED.

Just curious where can I find either of those? Decorate or ZScript I mean.
