HombreSal Posted September 24, 2020 (edited) Today I noticed that if a Revenant blasts a Hell Knight/Baron's shoulder with a missile, they won't infight as it should happen. What? Why? What? Edited September 24, 2020 by HombreSal 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
AtticTelephone Posted September 24, 2020 Revenants are dead demons, so they could possibly also be dead Hell Knights/Barons. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
GarrettChan Posted September 24, 2020 They infight with each other, but Hell Nobles don't infight with each other. You should pay closer attention. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Eric Claus Posted September 24, 2020 (edited) One thing to keep in mind that monsters have a threat rating of sorts. If you damaged the hell noble and continue to so they will not shift off of you until they lower that threshold to 0. This might be the case here. M_W Posted September 24, 2020 This might explain what you encountered: https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Monster_behavior#Targeting_threshold 4 Quote Share this post Link to post

Normally, barons and hell knights can infight with revenants, but not if they're still angry at the player. The details are explained here: 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
printz Posted September 24, 2020 It should be noted that MBF and its derived ports have a gameplay option which changes the infighting thresholding logic. For example in MBF a monster that sees you will not easily switch targets to another monster for a few seconds. Also they may switch their target back to the real enemy if they fail to find the bothersome monster. Is this documented in the wiki? 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
