how do get brutal doom?

go to moddb, download brutal doom v21. once downloaded you must unzip the rar. get the pk3 and drag it to the gzdoom(or lzdoom, zandronum etc.) executable. then it should work

Do you have Doom2.wad, doom.wad, tnt.wad or plutonia.wad on your gzdoom folder?
without those Brutal Doom didn't work.

Well now drag and drop BrutalDoomv21.pk3 into gzdoom.exe

Then select Doom2: hell on Earth to play with the Brutal Doom things.

check your keyboard controls or mouse controls in options, then you can map it to a key or even the right mouse button

Go to the control settings menu and bind the keys. It might actually be the weapon reload button (or the alt fire button) that lets you aim down the sights in BD, instead of the zoom button iirc.

i went in options, customize controls, action, then i set "weapon zoom" to mouse 2

I updated my post above, try seeing if that works. For the record, when I started BD it confused me for a minute too.

You go to the options menu. You get that, right?

 

Then you go to the control settings menu.

 

When there, you can bind a key. To bind a key, press enter. A text will tell you to now press a specific button you want to bind. Press that button to confirm your choice.

 

Example:Say you want to change the key to move forward. By default its ∆. Press enter and then W. The key then gets bind to W to move forward.

Iirc "weapon zoom" is not used by brutal doom to aim down the sights of guns. That is handled by the alternate/secondary fire button. Try remapping alt fire to mouse 2.

 

Also using all caps doesnt suddenly help people to understand you. Giving us more than 5 words at a time, though, does.
