Hey sorry I've been out guys, I recently hurt my back pretty bad about 2 weeks ago and have been out of commission. @Doomkid I've been working on a few tracks (scrapping a few) and I think I'll take map 27 if you don't mind.  I got something that I think really fits that map and it's almost done.

 

@Doomkid You can place "This one's for Daisy" wherever you want or scrap it if there's no map slot appropriate.

 

Looking forward to hearing all these awesome tracks!

All slots are claimed by this point, judging by the thread and Doomkid's additions to the OP; @DCG Retrowave was looking for a slot to claim before the last few closed up though, so a collab might be worth looking at.

 

I swear to god I am going to finish 32 before the heat death of the universe lmao, I'm expecting to wrap up another major project of mine soon so my schedule should free up enough to finish it and Wondering off. Sorry to keep you guys waiting

Appreciate the kind words Cammy, I'm almost 100% now though so I've been back to work on my tracks these last few days.

 

Are you the one that started the TNT music thread by any chance?  I thought map 27 was open here and I have a track almost complete for it right now, but if that spot is already taken it might fit well in your project.

That being said, I'd love to collaborate with anyone if interested. If you've got an idea but need/want help to flesh it out, let me know! Even if it's just tweaking volume/velocity/panning and getting a better mix I'm happy to help anyone!

Hey everyone, it looks as though I’ve had a few conflicting submissions for map slots. I’ll have to sort this out properly once I’m at my PC - it’s a bit hard to keep proper track of on the phone - but I’ll get any conflicting submission issues sorted soon here. There’s always the chance that some people will end up not submitting a MIDI, so please keep anything you start on hand, just in case. Sincere apologies about any mixups, my finger hasn’t been on the pulse.. Willy W. asked me for slot 27 in a PM but I didn’t realise until Bucket had also asked for that slot here publicly. And I see that because nothing was marked off by me, STILES also has a potential submission.. I guess it could be down to a simple coin toss or something. I goofed.

 

EDIT: Bucket actually clearly claimed map26, so this mixup isn’t as bad as I thought at first, thank hell. Still, STILES and Willy W. both technically have claims to it right now, until I work out how to fix this problem I’ve caused.

 

Before marking anything in the OP, I’ll wait to see if DCG Retrowave wants 19 or if it will end up with Lippeth. What I will do for now is make it clear that submissions are closed, just so no one else ends up in this situation again.

 

ZeMystic, I look forward to hearing the update of Echoes, and CammyBanana, there’s no rush whatsoever.

@P41R47That would be a great idea to have a side 2/3/4 for future reference or even in this project.  It would save the hassle of making a 'MID the way id did sequel 2,3,4,etc,' thread in the future.

@Willy W.Let me know if you still want map 27 Willy.  I think according to Doomkid you called it first so you have first grabs.  I should have the track I'm working on done by Friday/Saturday at the latest otherwise.

@STILES I actually kinda have a rough version of a MIDI for the slot 27 finished. I wouldn't really have the confidence to claim a slot if I didn't have something for it, I'm just waiting for what Doomkid says about it, because I'm very new to this and don't really want to share it if it's too shite. But if he doesn't like it, the slot is definitely all yours.

 

And sorry for the mixup, it's my fault. I'm a bit too shy to just claim a slot publicly in the thread, so I was just talking about this to Doomkid in DMs, and that's kinda the cause of this trouble.

Worst case scenario: some slots have several songs for them, so they fight to the death Doomkid choses the one that fits best and the rest are bonus tracks. Most of Jimmy's packs end up with slotless bonus tracks.

MAP19 would be nice since the original track is one of my favorites.  If you'd like to collaborate on this track, we can certainly try that :)

The initial idea I had was to base it on Murder Nights by Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats for that doomy stoner rock vibe, but that's just one of many places it could go.

@STILES and @Willy W., would you mind either posting your MIDIs or if you prefer, sending me the current versions in PM? I’d like to sit with each one for a day or two and make a decision on which one I think suits m27 the best, as Gez has suggested essentially. Whichever one is picked will be strictly down to what my ears consider the most suitable - it’s by no means a competition as I know you’re both fine musicians. If you’re both comfortable with this just let me know and post the MIDs here or send them my way privately if you prefer.

 

I apologise for being so absent this last week - I’ll finally have more time again soon here to manage this project properly, as I intended. Also @Diabolución I have all intentions to upload this pack to idgames and doomshack when it’s complete, so no worries.

My work in progress for Map 31. I'm still learning how to use Sekaiju so for now here's an mp3, created with Finale.  I've tried quite a few different ideas for this level but always come back to writing a track similar to Bobby Prince's original music for Map 31: it just fits so well.

Things still to be changed: different sounds of course, different beats, fiddling with reverb and panning etc.. I'm also still thinking about the overal structure: do I add other sections or keep it simple, and do I go up a fourth like Bobby did or not, etc..

Sorry for the recent bout of silence on this project - it was decided that STILES' tune will go in the 28 slot, while Willy W.'s tune will remain in the 27 slot.

That said, I cannot help but state that the MIDIs of MAP01 and MAP15 should be swapped. MAP01 is too short to appreciate fully the proposed MIDI, and the proposed MIDI is too short for MAP15, so that it becomes somewhat repetitive. Moreover, that MIDI (doom wad e1m3.mid) reminds me of Sadistic, which is nice for an introductory map.

I've got no issue with swapping MIDIs, ultimately that's Doomkid's call but I can agree with your point, and consent to the change if necessary.

Really cool to see decino and Peter "Megasphere" taking part in this. I sort of compose MIDIs myself, using MuseScore and its own soundfont, though, so as much as I would enjoy contributing to this, I pretty much can't. I am eager to see the completed playlist!
