Biodegradable Posted October 9, 2020 Couldn't finish MAP02, sorry. It got too slaughtermappy for my taste and became a drag to play. It's just not a style I'm really into, at least not this early into my Dooming career haha. Still, the map is well made just like MAP01 and I'm sure MAP03 is just as good as well. Then last 20 minutes or so of the video are about me searching for the exit (no clipping everywhere) also @romsu89 can you tell me why there are more or less 8 supershotguns in this map? ahahahah it was so trollish watch it all to see the problems (but also the very good stuff). Caleb13 Posted October 10, 2020 (edited) Oh wow, very impressive work! Do you do architecture in the real world too? MAP02 was significantly easier that the other two, mainly because there were lots of ammo everywhere - I had full shells and bullets most of the time even though I didn't use melee weapons at all. Well, I was a bit disappointed by the custom monsters, but at least you used them sparingly. I played on UV in GZdoom 4.4.2 and I found some bugs along the way: MAP01: isn't sector 2325 (berserk) supposed to be secret? Sector 517 shouldn't be secret. Is there a way to reach sector 1274 without jumping? Incidentally, there are several small sectors with incorrect floor textures (acid) around it. Bars (sector 304) take too long to lower - from the first minute, it was obvious the maps are going to be full of traps, so I played cautiously. Before pressing buttons, I double-checked that I didn't trigger any nasty surprises while I approached them. So I hit the switch only after I killed all the monsters and then had to idly wait for one minute. MAP02: similar to MAP01, bars (sector 1285) take too long to lower. Sector 3922 shouldn't be secret. Linedef 2066 has switch texture, but it doesn't do anything. One of the imps from sector 2741 didn't teleport out and walked around it - either some teleport linedefs don't work or their destination became blocked by other monsters. Generally, this monster closet design is not very reliable. Teleporter 5441 should have WR linedefs, not W1. And speaking of teleporters, linedefs on many of them face the wrong way - the player has to run completely over them to teleport. It's counter-intiutive and confusing. MAP03: this is the most confusing map of the pack, yet unlike the other two, there is no computer map. Sectors 65, 70, 215 and 359 shouldn't be secret. I think linedef 37930 should be WR, not W1. Arachnotron 10 never teleported into playable areas, it seem the teleport lines are broken. About 15 monsters (thing 90 etc.) also didn't teleport out, because sector 557 has tag 0 and blocks them. More monsters become trapped in sectors 6236 and 5258, so 100% kills is impossible. Clippy Posted November 22, 2020 I finally got to that third map It was my favorite one. I think I played the updated version. Progression is still off the rails but I didn't spend too too much time getting lost in here.
