URROVA Posted February 2, 2022 v6.65.14: Fixed the ghost lost soul bug. I was told that some of the maps become a bit too easy because of the many easy-to-find secrets that contain powerful items. I was thinking of reducing the power of some of the secrets throughout the wad (for example: replacing some secret Megaspheres with Soulspheres or Armor). Did you have the same impression? Also i think the baphomet is easy to beat if you have the bfg. Maybe can be good idea resetting the inventory on the previous level? It was started by AtticTelephone as a single map "experiment" where somebody take the lastest version of the map, made the changes he wanted and uploaded the new version, allowing other persons to edit the map. The project has grown from a single vanilla map to a boom compatible 35 map megawad edited by 45~ different people. The original final version was published on October 8 of 2020, but some of us tought the wad needed more polishment, so we made a version named "Beyond the Experiment", with bugfixes and more polished levels. I have fixed some of the later maps for death-match and cooperative play. I have only finished up to map 26 so far (except map 21 which I did not change yet). I also updated the music credits in the CREDIT lump. Here is the latest version and a full list of changes: Version 6.65.16: NEGATIVEONE_v6.65.16.rar Changes: Spoiler MAP22: - removed Megasphere from secret sector 48 - replaced Megasphere with Blue Armor in secret sector 802 - co-op: 5 extra barons + 4 hell knights + 4 mancubus + 3 cyberdemons + 1 archvile - co-op: extra armor and backpacks near the start + 8 boxes of rockets + 4 boxes of shells + 6 small shell pickups + 4 large cell packs - dm: added "S1 floor raise to lowest ceiling" to the back of the 'instant opening' doors in the beginning (sectors 259 and 140) - dm: added "W1 ceiling raise to highest ceiling" and "S1 floor lower to lowest floor" to doors marked by keys in square outdoor area MAP23: - bug fix: Teleporter destination (thing 192) was missing flags for easy and hard difficulty - bug fix: Lava in sectors 83, 203, 343, 464, 575, 582 and 607 now hurt the player; and all lava hurts -10/-20% - bug fix: Sector 549 is now tagged as a secret. Should I try to continue with fixing maps 27 to 35? Or do we release it "as is"? I cannot really say how long it will take me. The wad is playable in single player and should run flawless in GZDoom. In Boom, there might be small issues with the extra secret maps (see below) Which makes me think: Should we not create a proper UMAPINFO lump or would this create problems? (should be the same as ZMAPINFO) I think there are two things you should also mention in the readme (if not already mentioned): 1. Map 21 has an intentionally inaccessible monster and cannot be finished with 100% kills 2. The secret exit of map 32 will probably crash older Boom ports.
