I got this cool WAD idea.

So I was reading this thread about SCP wads, and I had this cool idea. It's not about an SCP wad specifically, but something close. Basically the UAC started a subdivision for researching anomalies for "scientific uses", mostly selling them as weapons or something, and they managed to get a few of these.

 

There was a specialized facility for doomsdays (SCP-2000), but underwater like that ocean lab from Deus Ex, and the brain of a Spiderdemon, along with a few other things. Thing is, these were both in the same place. Sometime, somewhere in the facility, they decide to add some plugs and wires and a couple of supercomputers to the Spiderbrain, hoping that the brain's vast knowledge could be accessed and used to make a superweapon AI, like SKYNET. Instead, the Spiderbrain caused a massive breach in the facility and took over the entire Ocean Lab.

 

A few marines are sent to the Ocean Lab to secure the area and take anything that the UAC can still sell, but only one of them survives and they have to kill the Spiderbrain.

 

 

Then at the end of writing this I realized you'd need ZDoom to build this and I don't know how to use ZDoom, so I'll be abandoning it probably for someone else to do.

Yeah, Btw Doom builder has nothing to teach about ZDoom so ZDoom wiki is the only place to start

ZDoom is not hard to learn. Just do sum brushing up.

You sound like the opposite of me, I'm semi-familiar with DECORATE but never had any concepts to go off of. ZDoom isn't too bad though, you just look at the wiki as you go.

Doesn't sound like you would need zdoom to create something similar.

 

An overrun techbase controlled by a spider brain can be communicated quite effectively with basic lindef actions and custom textures such as corrupted computer textures with the spiderbrain watching you etc..

 

With the right custom sky and glass texture you can probably fake the underwater effect quite easily, like the arcadia demake did.
