Why does doomguy have black gloves on the cover but in the game he has different colored gloves?

The gloves are brown on the cover; it's just an effect of the local lighting if they appear black.

Because his brass knuckles are sized tightly for his fingers and the additional thickness of the leather makes it impossible to put them on.

Because he is a gentleman. It is not implemented inside the game, but he takes out his glove, slaps the demons in the face with it and challenges them to a good old fist fight.

Doomguy has a demon-punching fetish and wants to maximize the sensations. The Berserk pack is actually not a "berserk pack" (why would the UAC have those?), it's just a medpack inhibition-removing 90° booze.

probably because the cover art was drawn by an artist that wasn't involved in the development, also when I was younger I thought that Doom Guy wasn't wearing gloves and that he had weird folds of skin on his hands
