(This WAD is a WIP, and is'nt being frequently being worked on)

 

Wooo pre-beytah is here.

 

Basicly this WAD is a mix between retail doom and alpha doom, its a remake, no copy pasta here, it has the alpha levels all remade from scratch (still only a few of them

Current levels - 3 (e1m1, e1m2, e1m8)

New Enemies - Machine Gunner, Lost Skull

New Weapons - Rail Gun, BFG 2704, MiniGun, Machine Gun, Rifle, Bayonet, Unholy Bible, DB Shotgun.

Cheers for more Alpha Doom-based mod!

I like how the mod extensively uses modern graphic effects of GZDoom without overblowing them. Definitely gives itself more substance than some other Alpha-based mods. Although I'd suggest that you add a few slopes as well (those were planned during development). Otherwise, a pretty solid WIP mod.

Stairs are prettier than slopes, but, yeah there are some slopes, by the way, i will daily update the WAD in the same link, right now i added the same sway that is used in project brutality and some other mods, and warping liquids. And a slightly updated e1m4 that i didnt finished.

 

Btw, updated the link right now on the same drive link of this post, so yeah, update it.

I am making some of them less fast flashing lights, also, all of the levels will be remade basicly, will look and play better, less simple too

According to the Doom Bible appendices (section C4, subsection ViewDo), the names SeeSlope, Slopehed and Slopeval were three of the considered names of a utility John Carmack never wrote, which implies that slopes were to be implemented.

my hard drive died for now :) i forgot to put newer test builds on google drive, and rn i just have a poo poo SSD and no main HD, and that SSD does'nt even make my system faster, and this current public build is actualy doo doo to be honest

i recovered it, this alpha has 6 levels, the new alpha will only have 2, the levels are being remade in which i think i already said it, but they will be much better than the old ones, and wont have epiletic lights everywhere, maybe i could update it not very soon.

Played the first two maps so far.   Damn good I think.   Has a very Super Metroid vibe to it.   If you want any more Alpha textures or resources for your project, feel free to take them from classict.wad or entryhangar plus.   I fixed a lot of Alpha textures to be 128 tall and otherwise better multiples of 16 wide or tall, but so they still display the same on short walls.
