Can I have this teleporting monster try to "flank" the player? (DECORATE)

Question

I've been tinkering with Realm667's D3Wraith (idk what the etiquette is wrt posting other people's code so I'm going to err on the side of caution and just link the original monster's download page below), and its main "gimmick" is that it teleports every so often while it's fighting the player. As far as I can tell, its current behavior is to teleport somewhere in between where it is and where the player is, something like half the distance (I'm afraid I don't quite understand the code the author uses to make this happen, it's a bit more complicated than the typical DECORATE monster code I'm used to); this behavior might be startling at first, but doesn't do a whole lot to change gameplay. What I'm trying to do is have it instead try to teleport behind or to the side of the player, in an attempt to "flank" them (the "flanking" behavior of the Enderman mob from Minecraft is an excellent example of the kind of behavior I'm going for). The idea is to have an enemy that directly threatens what I believe to be the player's most important asset: control over their own movement -- not through traditional means of area denial or by physically obstructing that movement, but by forcing the player to constantly adjust to the presence of an up-close enemy with an extremely unpredictable and disorienting movement pattern.

I guess my first question is: could anyone with more DECORATE experience than I do break down what's happening when this monster teleports? (The main thing I'm having trouble understanding is how it decides its teleport destination.) Is it possible to modify this scripting to achieve the kind of "flanking" behavior I described above? Or is this the sort of thing where the limitations of Doom's AI are just going to prevent me from making this work?

Thanks in advance!
