Using sprites created by other people.

Hi.

 

I know to use sprites made by other people you need permission (unless they are on Realm667, then just credit them in your ReadMe.txt in your mod as they are available for anyone to use) but I can't find the people who created DRLA mod as I would like to use some of their monster sprites in my Randomiser Mod. I've seen their sprites used in the Doom mod, Clusterfuck. Anyone know how I can contact the DRLA team? Thanks.

If the DRLA mod came with a text file, check it for permissions. If permissions to use the resources are granted, then you won't need to contact them.

 

If you're asking about the DooMRL Arsenal, then you should also check the ZDooM forums and ask there. The original poster on that forum thread, Yholl, seems to be active on those forums, and last visited there on October 3.

@ReX the wad file is called 'DoomRL_Monsters_Beta_7.3' and the credits says this... [Pictured] Hence why I want to ask permission to use some of their resources for the Randomiser Mod that I am currently creating. If didn't come with a text file, so I looked at the credits.txt in Slade 3.

I don't want to use all the resources of DRLA, just some of them.

Now I am really tempted to just go ahead and use the sprites now and just credit the creators in my mod's readme.txt. It's been nearly two months now and still not a word! I'll give it one more week and if I haven't heard anything then I'm just gonna go ahead and use them. A simple 'yes' or 'no' should not take two months!
