Mission advance problem

 Hello, I have completed the entire campaign. Now I am repeating missions and I am running into the following problem.  

 

When I repeat a mission, and for whatever reason I go out during the course of this, when I resume it the game takes me to the base, it does not let me go directly to where I left off. Items collected if saved but not advance.  

 

Is it a problem or does the game foresee it like this?

If you exit a level during Mission Select, you must restart the level when you return to it.
