MetaCorp Posted November 19, 2020 (edited) I would like to play classic Doom in virtual reality with a friend who is in another country. We both have PC virtual reality headsets (an Oculus Rift and a Valve Index, respectively). I am well aware of GZDoomQuest, the solution I am seeking should be for PC VR, not mobile standalone headsets. Is this even possible? If so, which source port is ideal for this? Can anyone recommend a launcher which makes loading mods relatively simple? (I would like to avoid using bunch of command-line arguments; I am quite familiar with flags for launching source ports with mods, but my friend does not share my familiarity. I would like to make the setup as simple as possible to account for disparities in technical skill.) Can anyone make any recommendations for mods that improve playability in VR (I am not looking for a list of cool mods with new weapons or levels, but rather utilities that are specifically intended to improve the experience in VR, such as two-handed aiming, laser-sights, teleport-based locomotion, etc.) Thanks in advance! DavidN Posted November 19, 2020 (edited) This might be a bit out of date by now, but I put together a pack of mods on a fork called GZ3Doom that I used to play in VR - it allows free handed aiming but I haven’t yet found something for teleport movement. The ZIP is linked in the description of this video. And if you know about source port flags and so on you could always put a batch file together for them to just click and run! MetaCorp Posted November 20, 2020 @DavidN This is great! That's just what I needed to get started. I got it up and running in no time! I have only one other question. I would like to try playing the Doom64 TC for ZDoom. On the Oculus Quest, there is a download link for a 3D Model pack for weapons for Doom64. I haven't been able to find this anywhere on the web outside of the GZDoom app on the Quest. Does anyone know where this might live so I can access it? 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
