Dexiaz Posted December 11, 2020 Hello everyone! It's a little bit late, but here goes my Sketch Doom mod which I've planned to release on December 10, for the Doom anniversary. As you can see, this mod turns Doom into pencil sketches on paper (btw, you can disable paper effect). I've got a feedback already and people says there are few minor bugs with textures. That's a shame, I'll fix it, but later. But I hope you'll enjoy the mod even in current state. How to make this work: 1) Inside the archive you'll find the Reshade Tool (with GUI). You must use it to patch GZDoom (or LZDoom) sourceport with Borderlands CEL-shading effect (like on video). I recommend to download a standalone pack of sourceport to modify it instead of modifying your sourceport-for-regular-use. 2) Run .bat file and choose the IWAD. At present time it works with only Doom 1/2 (not TNT and Plutonia). If you find any bugs, please report them in this thread. Sorry for any inconvenience with installing or playing with texture bugs. You can download the mod HERE. I hope you will like it. 35 Quote Share this post Link to post

ViolentBeetle Posted December 11, 2020 I didn't quite understand, can I use it with PWADs as well after patching the IWAD? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
ViolentBeetle Posted December 11, 2020 (edited) I fed it Hellevator PWAD (Only uses vanilla textures for the most part) and the shading seems to apply inconsistently. I'll show you screenshot once imgur learns to love me again. Here it is. Doesn't look quite right to me:https://imgur.com/a/47d2zev Works fine without it though. Do I guess I load it wrong? spineapple tea Posted December 11, 2020 Really makes you realize just how simplistic the geometry looks sometimes. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

In my case, the cel shader doesn't even apply at all (I've followed all steps in the instruction). Wonder where I'm doing wrong, guess I need to learn more about GZDoom shaders as well. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Dexiaz Posted December 12, 2020 (edited) THANKS EVERYONE! GLAD YOU LIKED THIS! 6 hours ago, ViolentBeetle said: I didn't quite understand, can I use it with PWADs as well after patching the IWAD? All custom textures must be changed manually. So no, at present time PWADs are not supported. I could add some PWAD support, but only for few popular PWADs and by the audience choice. 3 hours ago, InDOOMnesia said: In my case, the cel shader doesn't even apply at all (I've followed all steps in the instruction). Wonder where I'm doing wrong, guess I need to learn more about GZDoom shaders as well. The Reshade works not only with GZDoom, but with any game which supports DirectX or OpenGL. From the 2018 I've asked many times about helping me with doing such shader specially made for GZDoom. But nobody cared. So I've decided to use this tool having no alternative. I suggest you to watch some tutorials on the Youtube about Reshade. Or read a tutorial on the Reshade forum. Looks like my tutorial in archive is not so good.
