HombreSal Posted December 19, 2020 I had a good time with them on PS4, but I forgot to ask what do y'all think of it. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
El Juancho Posted December 19, 2020 Some levels are fun but most of them are bad or terrible (im looking at you, TEETH.WAD) I really enjoyed the map paradox. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
SF. Posted December 19, 2020 (edited) I enjoyed Dr. Sleep's maps, Trapped on Titan, Paradox, Black Tower. I hated Mephisto's Mausoleum and the Express Elevator to Hell. The rest of the maps were decent, not really memorable. Edited December 19, 2020 by paturn 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Murdoch Posted December 19, 2020 I found them a mixed bag. Some solid for the time ones but three or four truly terrible ones with either poor ammo balance or deliberately dickish design. One in particular, Fistula i think it was, was next level awful. Most of it seemed deliberately designed to piss the player off. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Diabolución Posted December 19, 2020 Cyclic topic, they were discussed a few months ago: https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/115248/ In my view, just having the Dr. Sleep’s maps (my favourite ones, in fact) makes them worthy. If you indeed had a good time with them, I would suggest the additional maps related to them: http://geocities.ws/likelystoriesus/achron22.ziphttp://geocities.ws/likelystoriesus/dante24.zip http://www.mustaine.com/downloads/levels/TWM01.zip https://doomshack.org/uploads/CDKSTUFF_REBUILT.ZIP (DEVICE_1.WAD, E_INSIDE.WAD, THE_CPU.WAD, THE_DMZ.WAD, THE_FURY.WAD, THE_HIVE.WAD) https://soulsphere.org/mirrors/jff/anomaly.ziphttps://soulsphere.org/mirrors/jff/farside.ziphttps://soulsphere.org/mirrors/jff/mines.ziphttps://soulsphere.org/mirrors/jff/trouble.zip https://youfailit.net/pub/idgames/levels/doom2/a-c/cabal1.ziphttps://youfailit.net/pub/idgames/levels/doom2/a-c/cabal2.ziphttps://youfailit.net/pub/idgames/levels/doom2/a-c/cabal3.ziphttps://youfailit.net/pub/idgames/levels/doom2/a-c/cabal4.ziphttps://youfailit.net/pub/idgames/levels/doom2/a-c/cabal5.ziphttps://youfailit.net/pub/idgames/levels/doom2/a-c/cabal6.ziphttps://youfailit.net/pub/idgames/levels/doom2/a-c/cabal7.zip Bonus:https://youfailit.net/pub/idgames/levels/doom2/j-l/kickdm2.zip 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
seed Posted December 19, 2020 That depends on who you ask. From my POV the vanilla Master Levels are a mixed bag. Some are good, others not so much, while others are plain average. However, I do consider the PSX rendition of these maps to be the definitive version, and it also helps it has only the best maps in the set. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
DavitW Posted December 19, 2020 Most of them were pretty solid. I liked Tim Willits maps Attack and Canyon and the maps Paradox and Subterra. They're rather basic but I just enjoyed them. All of Dr Sleeps maps were really good as well, Virgil and Minos were probably my favorite. Then there were maps that were pretty interesting but I just didn't enjoy playing them at all like Bloodsea Keep, Black Tower and Mephistos Mausoleum. Then you have TEETH, The elevator level which is just terrible in so many ways. Prorbably the only pure bad map of the set. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
ChopBlock223 Posted December 25, 2020 Some of them are ok I guess, though the last time I played them they were mixed with some Final Doom levels in the Playstation level set, and I found a lot of them were hopelessly samey and dull. I really hate Mephisto's Maosoleum, that's just not a fun level. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
