Jimmy Posted January 7, 2021 (edited) I'm doing it again! The theme of this installment of 30in30 - a challenge I set myself to create 30 MIDI tracks in 30 days - is to be "recovery". I've taken drafts of songs that have been sitting dormant in my WIP folder for far too long - some of these date back to 2009 - and applied my modern sensibilities to give them the help across the finish line that I believe they deserve. As with 30in30-4, since this will be one long month of MIDIs, I will be updating this thread every week with seven new songs until the thirty slots are filled. January 31st will be my buffer day in case I miss a day or need extra time to work on an entry or two. Without further ado, here's what I have so far: 30in30-5 About 106 minutes of MIDI. Week 1: The Fifth Will Rise (2:48) Recovery (3:10) Gradual Decline (2:19) Ulna (3:05) Princess of Destruction (3:01) Tapioca Nights (2:15) Dangerous Procedures (3:40) Week 2: Coffee Tremors (2:45) The Puppeteer (3:12) Vibrant Liquids (3:09) Crawl to Your Cocoon (3:34) A Lullaby for Ants (3:19) Survivor of the Wild (5:44) Centrifuge (4:46) Week 3: Nonagon (3:41) Jericho (5:08) Billowing Clouds (3:36) Nachthexen (3:05) SHUT YOUR FUCK UP (3:13) Sky Machine Broke (3:13) The Colours Borne by the Crystal Vixen (3:25) Week 4: Guantanamo Heatwave (3:18) Frostbitten Paradise (4:04) Tripwire (2:59) Avalon (4:14) Fall of Faith (4:14) Kamikaze Marmite (3:52) The Bonefather (2:56) Final Week: Autumn Leaves... (5:42) ...Winter Falls (5:52) Autumn Leaves... / ...Winter Falls (12:20) See also: 30in30 1-4 Thread 30in30-4 Development Thread Edited February 9, 2021 by Jimmy 46 Quote Share this post Link to post
Jimmy Posted January 14, 2021 (edited) Week 2 released! Includes the 5-minute-plus "Survivor of the Wild", which was originally going to be one of the movements in a planned sequel to The Godhood Suite which I never finished. Edited January 14, 2021 by Jimmy 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Jimmy Posted January 21, 2021 (edited) Week 3 is released! "Billowing Clouds" is an old Supplice track that has sat in a desperately unfinished state since 2012. "Nonagon" and "Jericho" were originally written for BTSX in 2015 but again didn't see completion. Edited January 22, 2021 by Jimmy 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Jimmy Posted January 31, 2021 (edited) IT IS DONE. RC1 is linked in the OP. Closing the proceedings for this month is the 12-minute long "Autumn Leaves, Winter Falls", which is divided between the 29th and 30th tracks. My longest MIDI (aside from the Godhood Suite) since BTSX E2's "Petrichor"! What a month it's been. Time to do some mapping to let my brain cool off! So I'm formally asking your permission to use them. Also, can I ask how you made that logo? Any resources I should know about? Something like that will come mighty handy with my WAD editing adventures! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Something like that will come mighty handy with my WAD editing adventures! Any "decent" graphic editing tool would be able to do this. Just write some text, set the colours/gradient, outline it black, drop shadow, done. :) ----- I'm listening to the midi's now Jimmy! I'm up to track 10 thus far. So far, the standout tracks for me have been both 02 and 09, but everything here is up the the usual very high standards we've become accustomed to hearing from you. Excited to reach the wonderfully titled two-parter at the end; fantastic work! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Dragonfly Posted February 1, 2021 (edited) I've sent a PM so as to not derail this thread. ---- on topic: Track 15, Nonagon... Holy shit! Edited February 1, 2021 by Dragonfly 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Jimmy Posted February 1, 2021 @Samuel Slayer I personally used Paint.NET plus a couple of large plugin packs called CurtisBlackEffects and PaintDotNetEffects. Also have at it! Keep your eyes peeled for the definitive release, which will be done over at my BandCamp. The MIDIs here will also be updated, so if you want to use them at all, make sure to use the final versions once they're out. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
