What's the closest thing that i can get to doombuilder2 on linux

hrr1000

Question

I am working with a linux machine and i want to get back into map creation.

I know that db2 has issues running on linux (due to heavy reliance on windows dependent c# libraries i guess) and i was wondering if there was an alternative.

I want to create vanilla compatible maps (both dm and non dm).

Any suggestions?

thanks

Probably Eureka

I have tried eureka before but maybe i didn't set it up right (it feels very clunky to me). is there a setup procedure to make it more dumbass friendly?

Well, Eureka may not be as feature rich as DBX or GZDB, and the key assignments are different, but it is a very capable editor. It just takes time to get used to how the keys and modes work.

I’m using Slade, Glbsp, Chocolate Doom and GzDoom on Linux. They all come with the distribution packages. However, the Slade package is a bit out of date.

Keep us posted how building UDB worked out!
