The Random Surfboard Posted January 21, 2021 I have tried to start a server with Chocolate Doom, but whenever I do so I get a notification about port-forwarding. Even when I try to play without a master server, it still refuses to connect. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Redneckerz Posted January 21, 2021 The port to forward is UDP port 2342. See also the Multiplayer configuration page for Chocolate Doom. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
The Random Surfboard Posted January 21, 2021 I tried that, but I just can't get it working. Whenever I try making a dedicated server, I just get this notification: 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Mr.Rocket Posted January 21, 2021 (edited) Well it's just what it says.. the dedicated server doesn't accept any parameters. The first player that is going to join the server after it is hosted is the one that adds parameters prior to connecting. eg: Run chocolate-doom.exe -dedicated ~ or just run the chocolate-server.exe. Then run chocolate-doom-setup.exe and Connect to server, add the server IP, in your case running on the same machine the ip would be 127.0.0.1, then add -iwad doom2.wad and any other parameters in additional parameters. Then f10 to Connect. Any other clients should see your server running in the server list to connect to, as long as the port is forwarded to your machine.
