Gez Posted February 11, 2021 Are you starting on MAP01 or on LEVEL01? To explain the question: when autoloading nerve.wad, GZDoom renames the map slots in it so that they don't conflict with the Doom II map slots. The MAPINFO was written for this version -- it applies to LEVEL01-LEVEL09, not MAP01-MAP09. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

I have since acquired the BFG Edition version of nerve.wad and both the music and the level titles are modified accordingly. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Peter Posted February 13, 2021 Last minute, Dwars submits a track for the Text Screen (D_READ_M lump) and I say sod it and write something for the Title Screen (D_DM2TTL lump). Think of it as two extra bonus tracks. Updated the download links in the original post. Updating is optional as the rest of the midis are untouched. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
P41R47 Posted February 18, 2021 (edited) No Rest for The living Midipack is now compatible with PrBoom+ via UMAPINFO I added just a few patches for the Episode selection screen. Fully tested UMAPINFO that works without problems. Little instruction for this to work: Open up NERVE.WAD with Slade and change every MAPxx Lump to MAP9x. Example Map01 = MAP91 Easy! If there is a problem, just tell me and i will see if i can fix it. NRFTL_Midi_UMAP_Wide.zip EDIT: fixed a bad line of code that impossibilitate to get into the secret level. EDIT22/02/2021: i solved most problems it has, now it show perfectly the episode selection screen and every map has the corresponding midi for it. EDIT.28/02/2021: Added the new title and text screen midi lumps, anda wad compatible with widescreen assets and MAPINFO. ENJOY! Edited February 28, 2021 by P41R47 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Firebert Posted February 19, 2021 I made a UMAPINFO patch for ZDoom which gets rid of the episode selection screen. nerve_umapinfo.zip 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

adamastor Posted March 14, 2021 This is awesome. I guess that after the Master Levels and NRFTL there's only Thy Flesh Consumed left for a brand new MIDI pack. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I was thinking of trying to make something like a Thy Flesh Consumed MIDI pack myself, since I had some general ideas for E4M1, E4M2, and victory music. Though it would be much better off as a community project, to be honest. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

(Plus, if we were gonna do one for E4, might as well do the Heretic treatment and replace ALL the repeated music in all the episodes) Edited March 16, 2021 by Devalaous 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
MattFright Posted March 16, 2021 Just coming by to say that @Sumo did an AMAZING job, i could listen to that song on loop for an hour and i wouldn't get sick of it. I can't stop listening to the entire pack either though, it's really surprising to see how talented everyone involved in this is. 4 hours ago, Devalaous said: Wouldn't this only work on advanced ports? iirc the music for E4 is hardcoded. It would affect the music on previous episodes yes, but if it's meant as an E4 midi pack specifically, people would (and should) only play with it on E4. Though i suppose advanced sourceports could get the "bonus" of making those tracks exclusive to E4 for sure. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Devalaous Posted March 16, 2021 Played through the first map again (I completed Map 1 right before this pack was announced and thus had to restart :p) and Decino's midi is amazing. Its like Eris and the BTSX team collaborated. Looking forward to hearing the rest, but unfortunately due to my idiocy, I forgot to charge my headphones and thus needed to stop playing. Sucks only having one micro-usb cable. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

I was thinking there would be a universal WAD that replaces all of the tracks that are reused in E4 in addition to advanced port exclusive WADs. Regardless, if there ever is an "Ultimate MID The Way id Did" or something like that, then I will have something to submit. Devalaous Posted March 17, 2021 Finished NRFTL tonight with the midipack, and I must say, the midis are great at enhancing the bloody and visceral feel that NRFTL has always had. The maps had so much more energy to them and I found myself just flowing from map to map, conquering the mapset with a new efficiency ive never had with this set before. My least favourite midi was Vivisection's, and only because that is the 'fuck you' map with a literal middle finger teleport closet xD I expected the midi to be much darker and sinister. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Diabolución Posted April 25, 2021 Releases · Sakitoshi/mbf_sigil · GitHub Of course, it would require that someone submitted a pull request so as to add support for dedicated music lumps (D_NRFTL[1-9]) for No Rest for the Living. Unregistered Account Posted April 27, 2021 amazing tracks, congrats to all involved! quick question; it's there any specific reason for the midis not work on prboom-plus 2.5.1.4? everything works perfectly on prboom-plus 26um but, other than the titlepic, there's no midi playback on 2.5.1.4 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
