so i had a outdated version for a while but i just upgraded to the latest version to have more mod compatibility and i have a question so in my older version the menus text was just the right size for me but when i upgraded the menu text was up in my face like classic doom but atleast the aspect ration of the main menu image is better i just wanted to know why and how i can fix this?

In the Miscellaneous options, set Disable Menu Clean Scaling to OFF.

 

I believe the reason it defaults to on is for the classic vanilla look, by popular request.

Thanks! The Up in your face menu made me feel a bit uncomfortable the first time i saw it

No problem! If you want to retain the proper pixel ratio of the menu, text and hud, you can type "vid_setscale 1920 900 0 1.2" into the console, assuming you have a 1080p monitor (Basically divide your monitor's height by 1.2 (1080÷1.2=900) and use your normal width). Set the 0 to 1 if you want to use linear scaling. The 1.2 sets the pixel scale to the original vanilla scale, and is set to 1.0 by default.

 

Keep in mind that you should set HUD Preserves Aspect Ratio to off in the HUD scaling options if you do this, otherwise the statusbar will be extra stretched vertically.

 

If you have no interest in this then I apologize, but thought it could be useful in case someone else finds this thread with a similar question, or if I've got something wrong and need to be corrected.
