Sad news on new unreleased content

Yeah I call this what it actually is 

A person trying to get a rise out of the doom community by making fake discord screenshots saying no unreleased content is coming out anymore or in simple terms

STOP DOING IT

I do hope this turns out to be false, if it means in reality, there's nothing stopping Romero from releasing stuff.

Specially during id Software's 30th anniversary.

But until then, this thing technically needs a bit more attention if id can clear things up on the subject.

What actually happened as Mr Egg has said later in this thread, is that the channel the question and answer were on, was deleted in a server reshuffle. This makes perfect sense and Mr Romero has confirmed several times that it is genuine, therefore this is real and we can stop spamming Romero :) 

 

These screenshots come directly from the server OP linked, Romero Games' Discord, I used the search function for these screenshots which is very accurate. 

 

The Above screenshot shows the results for searching for any instances of "Mr Romero". As you can see, the question by Almighty Egg featured on this thread is not there. Egg's username is also green and has a different profile picture, although these could have been changed. (perhaps the troll face pfp in this thread is supposed to signify this is a troll in the first place?)

 

The below screenshot shows the results for searching for any instances of "I'm not". As you can see, the answer by Romero this thread was made on is not here. Romero's name is also not yellow here although that also could have been changed.

Unless both messages were edited or deleted, this thread is entirely fabricated. Not sure why OP would want to make a fake thread on something like this but a waste of time nonetheless.

it doesn't matter if this thread is a hoax or not... Romero's whims and wishes hold no sway over anything that falls in the category of intellectual property on the side of id software.

 

So... even if this thread is fake, which we can safely assume it is at this point, the reality that romero isn't going to dump more unused classic doom content without getting a massive slap on the wrist by a legal team very much stays the same..

so besides making up a fake conversation, is there really a reason for us to be whining about this? modders have been working their asses off filling gaps. if it's just about unused rotations, those could be made tbh. we're not entitled to shit from idgames besides what they give us, and bugfixes for bugs on things they give us. I don't get what the big damn deal is over releasing some old assets from Classic Doom. A game from the 90s, which could not possibly hurt id or Bethesda in any way, shape or form, and would not even be known by anyone other than us in the Doom community, one which has kept Doom alive and one which id and Bethesda have us to thank for. Wow, I gotta set the record straight about this one on my channel. It seemed so believable/inconspicuous, had no idea someone would tell such a pointless lie. I never felt “entitled” to more assets but a big company threatening a single man is a common enough story that people know will cause anger, I guess that was the goal of this fabrication.

Interesting, I wonder where the messages went then - I am willing to accept my conclusion was wrong, this must have been on another server or time period as the messages do not exist in any capacity on Romero Games' Discord.

 

I apologise OP, the evidence pointed towards one conclusion when apparently there is another.
