consent Posted February 9, 2021 Hey! I've recently got PRBoom+, but it seems that anytime I gain some sort of weapon progression and upon death, I'll lose all my weapons. This also includes my HP, it'll reset to 100 with no armor. I've tried to look into settings to turn this off but I can't find anything, does anybody have a way to turn this feature off. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Alper002 Posted February 9, 2021 (edited) This isn't a feature, it's how the original game behaved! 99% of maps are designed to be beatable from this reset inventory state(also known as a pistol start) so it's not a complete death sentence to have it happen. The only thing you can do to circumvent this is to save at the start of a map and reloading whenever you die. Edited February 9, 2021 by Alper002 8 Quote Share this post Link to post

I guess I've been too spoiled with GZDoom automatically saving my weapons. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Juza Posted February 9, 2021 99% of the time, a map's definitive experience is designed to be played from this blank slate. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
maxmanium Posted February 9, 2021 Technically all GZDoom is doing is auto-loading your latest compatible save. That does seem like it would be a nice (toggleable) feature. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

So it makes sense to conclude the game is "supposed" to prevent pistol start. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
