SSG Posted February 10, 2021 No matter how I mess with the settings, Doom gets blurry when I move around. Anyone have any ideas to fix it? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Rei is now real Posted February 10, 2021 What exactly do ya mean by that? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
seed Posted February 10, 2021 Yes indeed, what do you mean by "blurry"? Do you somehow mean the pixels getting blurry while running, most notably on the weapons? That weirdness is a known bug if so, but sadly cannot be fixed without a significant feature regression. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Set this, along with resizing fonts/sprites to "No" in the Display options, and Texture Filtering itself to "None" or one of the variations that allow mipmapping (None (Linear/Bilinear/Trilinear)). 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I already had texture filtering set to none. I'll try that other option. Edited February 10, 2021 by SSG 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
seed Posted February 10, 2021 Well if that's not it then, leave a screenshot to better see what you're talking about. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
SSG Posted February 10, 2021 (edited) I can't get it to show up in the screenshot, but the blue textures here especially are really blurry. Other walls I've run around so far kinda blurry but fine. Especially these blue squares just move in blurry arcs and it looks just awful. Edited February 10, 2021 by SSG 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
maxmanium Posted February 10, 2021 Are you sure you're not experiencing screen tearing? Does VSync help? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
xX_Lol6_Xx Posted February 10, 2021 Here's Dwars' tutorial, preety helpful. He uses an older gzdoom but it should be the same. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
seed Posted February 10, 2021 That screnshot clearly has texture filtering off and looks normal. I'm wondering if it isn't just your monitor or something? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I see nothing wrong with that screenshot. maybe its your monitor or something? dunno. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Yeah, normally this sort of thing would be unnecessary, but as it's clear your issue isn't apparent to the game itself what you will need to do is take an offscreen video (from your phone camera or something) and post that to show off what you are attempting to describe. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Redneckerz Posted February 10, 2021 On top of that, are there any mods loaded in? You would be surprised how often an issue arises in GZDoom and it turns out that the UIQ (User in Question) had a mod loaded along and either simply forgot or didn't think it would affect the visuals. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
SSG Posted February 11, 2021 There's no mods. I think I've figured it out. My AMD graphics card is just terrible. It crashed my computer installing new drives. It didn't even get to installing, just checking compatibility. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
