These are just addons, load them after the apropriate PWAD. It looks like the aim of your project is to add small touches to a variety of mapsets and megawads that will tweak minor details and inconsistencies, while adding more ambiance to them when played in GZDoom. This is evidently your way of showing your appreciation for these sets that you have clearly enjoyed. I'm sure that the fact that you have found such enjoyment from their creations would bring immense satisfaction to @Jimmy, @Jaska, Erik Alm, and the authors of the other mapsets and megawads that you plan to "update." However, have you sought permission from these authors to create these updates? You're not trying to pass off their work as your own, and I'm not accusing you of doing that. If you sought permission from the authors, then fine, disregard my question and proceed. If not, you may want to consider contacting them (if possible), because these authors spent time and effort to create these works, and they might have an opinion on you doing something that might change, however slightly, the way that one experiences their creation. They might not care at all, and might wholeheartedly approve of your efforts, but it would be good of you to get that consent before you starting "updating" someone else's release, regardless of your good intentions. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Jaska Posted February 13, 2021 Fixes to Lost civilization are totally fine. I had intention to add the map names myself but then didn't have energy to polish the project forever. If I had skills back then to add ambient sounds, I would have. I just somehow didn't even understand there could be port-differences done that way while there obviously was many projects which had. So you made it better, even kind of it was intented, heh. Thanks.
