TheGreenZap Posted February 16, 2021 Do you play some maps over and over again or do you mainly just play new maps or maps you have never played before? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Decay Posted February 16, 2021 Playing the same maps over and over but also at the same time complaining about playing the same maps over and over and never trying anything new is literally the PVP community's reason for existence 6 Quote Share this post Link to post
seed Posted February 16, 2021 Some IWAD maps are the only maps I replay occasionally, but otherwise, I tend to only play new stuff. With how much content is out there, I don't want to get stuck playing the same thing over and over again. 6 Quote Share this post Link to post
xX_Lol6_Xx Posted February 16, 2021 (edited) Yes, mostly TNT evilution maps, more specificly map 27. The infamous Mount Pain. Why? Cuz I love it. I'm also re-playing DOOM II, Thy Flesh Consumed and SIGIL Edit: basically if you love the maps or wads you're playing, you can re-play 'em as many times as you want. Examples include Scythe 2 MAP27, RRWARD02, TNT MAP20, and a bunch of maps from Equinox and Going Down. Oh shit and I love The Sky May Be 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Nights Posted February 16, 2021 I find myself playing the first episode of Ultimate Doom over and over. Not sure why, I just do for some reason. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Loud Silence Posted February 16, 2021 I try to play something new after finishing one WAD, but there's one map i keep replaying from time to time. I highly recommend it to anyone. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Spectre01 Posted February 16, 2021 I tend to prefer exploring new content but I also like going back to familiar maps/wads I enjoy from time to time. I've probably replayed the first Scythe 15-20 times. :P 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
NuMetalManiak Posted February 16, 2021 Yep, I love playing several wads over and over. I must've memorized the layouts, design, and gameplay of at least 300 maps by now. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Murdoch Posted February 16, 2021 I revisit old classics every now and then, but it's rare. Too much else to do. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Wavy Posted February 17, 2021 I sometimes just boot up GZDoom to play E2M7 of Ultimate Doom as it's my favourite map 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
P41R47 Posted February 17, 2021 (edited) Yeah, why not? those that are really fun, continue to be fun after you complete them. There quite a few on my favourite list that i replay when i don't know what ''new thing'' to play: -TNT: Evilution -Ultimate Doom -Fragport -Doom 2: Reloaded -Vile Flesh -CPD -The Journey -Suspended in Dusk -Mordeth -Aliens TC -HacX -REKKR -Kama Sutra -Memento Mori II -Alien Vendetta -Icarus: Alien Vanguard -Osiris TC -A.L.T. -The Invasion -STRAIN -Struggle: Antaresian Legacy -Mars War -Demonfear -Revolution! -Hell to Pay -Perdition's Gate -Tangerine Nightmare -TNT: Revilution -Urania -No End In Sight -2002: A Doom Odyssey -Doom: Damnation -Doom Zero -Doom 404 -Three is a Crowd -25 Years on Earth -Going Down -Unaligned -Unnecessary: Unaligned 2 Those are the ones i replay and i tend to rotate playing all the time when i'm not playing or replaying something i don't remember playing at all. :P One thing i notice since playing for soo long, is that i prefer one man mapsets. Most i listed are one man megawads. Only one mind making a whole mapset mean that all maps has and intended progression adn storytelling behind. Lucky_Edie Posted February 17, 2021 I replay ducksauce, dimensions map02, the final fight of dimensions 03 and frog_and_toad map09 over and over. Simply cannot get enough of those fights/maps. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

joepallai Posted February 17, 2021 I replay Hellrun, CastEvil, and Diopatra at least once a year and they play out differently every time. Polygon Base and Fortdeth are two more I enjoy replaying--pretty much any sandbox styled map, if it's intricate enough in its layout and challenging enough that it takes multiple attempts to complete in a single run, will capture my permanent interest. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Michael Jensen Posted February 17, 2021 Not really. Except for Icarus: Alien Vanguard which I play almost every month. I also often return to TNT, to play the 3 Drake O'Brien levels as a sort of trilogy. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Andromeda Posted February 17, 2021 (edited) Yes, I play through Eternal Doom once a year. Otherwise I spend my Doom time discovering new wads. Edited February 17, 2021 by Andromeda 6 Quote Share this post Link to post
Omniarch Posted February 17, 2021 I'm currently replaying No End In Sight for the fourth time, if that answers your question... Return to Hadron is also one of my faves in this regard, along with the first episode of Valiant. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Steve D Posted February 17, 2021 (edited) I've replayed Fava Beans and Osiris the most. And yowza, this was my 3000th post. :) Edited February 17, 2021 by Steve D 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
SirJuicyLemon Posted February 17, 2021 If you excuse me I'm going to play E1M1 for the 18274th time 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

ReaperAA Posted February 17, 2021 (edited) Apart from the iwads, I tend to play some of Eviternity's maps (Maps 6, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 31, 18, 20, 24), TNT Revilution's maps (Map 8, 17, 24, 30), Valiant's maps (Map 6, 7, 14, 31, 29, 30) and D2TWID's Map 29 from time to time. El Juancho Posted February 17, 2021 I usually play the first episode of alien vendetta, the maps are so fun to play 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Arbys550 Posted February 17, 2021 Yeah, I replay Sunder, Scythe 2, and Plutonia 2 quite a bit. I think I've played through Sunder at least 10 times now, which is a lot for a wad of that size. 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
Starduster Posted February 17, 2021 I replay Plutonia quite often. Sunlust MAP32 is another go-to for a nice break. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
