leejacksonaudio Posted April 2, 2022 (edited) My commissions queue is down to a population of just two people! I've only got enough commissions to run through the rest of this month and part of May. Now is the perfect time to get in a request! Please visit my web page at https://dleejackson.lbjackson.com/commissions/ for info and samples of my work. leejacksonaudio Posted April 8, 2022 Two news items: The queue is up to three people, which is still a pretty low number. Now's the perfect time to get in a request for a commissioned song for your WAD! I'm finally out of the neck brace, after living in it for six long weeks. My neck feels extremely weird now that it's no longer confined to a horse collar. Hurts a bit, too - I keep catching myself turning my head, which tweaks the bits the surgeon operated on. He promises me that this will hurt less with the upcoming six weeks of physical therapy he's prescribed. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
leejacksonaudio Posted April 15, 2022 (edited) Oh, joy. I get to go to the emergency room today. The swelling in my left leg has been getting steadily worse over the past few days. Well, today, it's really bad. It's crept up above my knee. My whole leg feels stiff. I've got what they call an "Unna Boot" on my lower leg to act as a compression bandage in an attempt to decrease swelling. I don't think it's working. I'm taking 80mg of a diuretic called torsemide every day in an attempt to reduce swelling. I don't think it's working anymore. I've got a pressure sore where my leg meets my buttocks muscle. It's now bleeding, I think due to the swelling (which I'm guessing is backing everything up in my leg). The whole leg is one big joojooflop situation. So, I get to do what few people have the luxury of doing: I get to plan a trip to the emergency room. This comes after I called my regular doctor for an appointment. The receptionist told me he had no appointments available, but she went back and discussed my situation with his nurses. They recommended I seek help at the emergency room. Therefore, I'm in the process of planning out a trip. My wife is having her morning cup of coffee (I've just finished mine), and I need to take my morning flotilla of pills. We can get ready to go after both events are finished. Like I said, oh joy. Edited April 15, 2022 by leejacksonaudio 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
Murdoch Posted April 16, 2022 Yeah good luck Lee. Never seems to end :( 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
leejacksonaudio Posted April 18, 2022 The trip to the emergency room turned into a weekend stay in the hospital. The doctor was quite concerned by the amount of swelling I had, as well as by the amount of weight I'd gained over just the past week (14 pounds). They also treated me for a painful shoulder which got more painful during the stay (more in a moment). They admitted me straight out of the ER and started giving me IV Lasix (a diuretic). They repeated this several times over the weekend. The result of this is that I nearly pissed myself silly. From Friday afternoon through Sunday morning, I lost a total of 13 pounds. That's over one and a half gallons of water weight from my swollen legs. They also took several blood samples out of my right arm, from basically the same spot. I believe this is what led to the next problem that cropped up: phlebitis (inflamed/sore blood vessel). It felt like a lump of oatmeal in my elbow, and hurt like all hell. I've still got problems with it. The doctors ordered ultrasounds of my legs and my arm, and an echocardiogram of my heart. They found no DVTs, nor did they find any possible cause for any of the swelling or the phlebitis. I was discharged Sunday evening and told to follow up with a vein specialist. We'll see how that goes. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
leejacksonaudio Posted April 18, 2022 Someone did a cool Chillout cover of a piece I wrote for ROTT ("Oww!"). It's a great cover. Please give it a listen. 5 Quote Share this post Link to post

Some of the resonant parts seem a little too resonant to my untrained ears, but it's still chill - Lee Jackson Chill (scientifically proven to rate somewhere just above the point where molecules cease moving). I hope your body chills a bit, though - you've really been through it recently. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

leejacksonaudio Posted April 21, 2022 Time again for the hospital. Today I go in for the left big toe surgery I've mentioned previously. Should be relatively easy, but nothing has been easy lately. I can use all the luck I can get. Please wish me some. 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
leejacksonaudio Posted April 21, 2022 Toe surgery went well, but recovery was hell. My right arm acted up again. They gave me a milligram of Dilaudid for the pain. That helped, some. Enough hospitals for a little while, please. 6 Quote Share this post Link to post

leejacksonaudio Posted April 25, 2022 I may be on my way back to the hospital. I've gained 13 pounds since my last blog update post, presumably all water weight. A cardiology appointment is in the cards for me today, so we'll see what he says. Otherwise, I'm just going to monitor things closely and go to the emergency room if things get too bad. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
leejacksonaudio Posted April 25, 2022 In the interim while we wait for my single "Geisterwolken" to be released, here's a project from Dan Douglas, the man behind the "Duke Smoochem 3D" mod project. He's released a work-in-progress video with a song he commissioned from me, titled "Double Decker Chase," as background music. Check it out! 7 Quote Share this post Link to post
MrFlibble Posted April 26, 2022 That's one crazy looking mod indeed! And the music is very nice. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

leejacksonaudio Posted May 5, 2022 I've updated my commissions page! My queue is quite low at the moment, so please give it a visit. You'll be glad you did! https://dleejackson.lbjackson.com/commissions 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
leejacksonaudio Posted May 6, 2022 "GEISTERWOLKEN" IS OUT!!! It's Hard Rock! It's Heavy Metal! Hell, it's kick-ass music that I wrote after seeing some cool cloud formations after a storm one day back in 2021, and you can listen to it NOW!!! Grab a downloadable copy from Bandcamp, or get the streaming links from my HearNow page! 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
Daytime Waitress Posted May 6, 2022 Goddamn this is slick! It's begging for a five-to-nine map WAD where all the authors try to create a map around the same musical track. Fertile ground, fertile clouds. I was expecting it to be pretty rad, but the biggest surprise was the other name attached - The Fat Man gave you a hand with this?! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Biodegradable Posted May 6, 2022 Really awesome track, Lee! It was well worth the wait to hear it. :^) 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Would definitely make a good Doom or Quake map song, or I can even see it on the opening credits of a moody horror film. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

leejacksonaudio Posted May 7, 2022 Well, the first 24 hours of sales of "Geisterwolken" on Bandcamp have been lackluster, to put it mildly. Not counting a couple of sales of my full discography (thank you!), there were only 7 purchases of the song totaling less than $20. If you have listened to "Geisterwolken" and liked it, I urge you to buy a downloadable copy for your permanent reference! I would be extremely grateful. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
