can somebody help me with starting servers

hello i am new to multiplayer doom and i've seen tutorials and everything to play doom in multiplayer but i couldn't figure out how to create a private server for me and everytime i start a server through doom explorer for me and my friend to play on together my friend couldn't find me

Have you tried using TSPG (sentinels playground) to host a server with a password? I find that’s the easiest way, and your friend will be able to see the server as well guaranteed. If you set a password no one else will be able to join.

Yea. First, get an account in that site. Then, one can host a server with their tastes and invite their friends. As Doomkid said, enabling a password is recommended.
