Adding custom Skies to doom

Recommended Posts

I am making a custom sky and whenever i convert the png to a doom graphic it turns black and white. Anyone got any solutions to this?

Select Doom's palette for the converted graphic, you currently have it set to "existing/global" and likely have no base global resource set nor does your wad provide its own, so Slade has to default to a black and white palette when no other option is set.

I set it to DOOM's palette and it is still black and white, this is my first time importing textures so sorry for not knowing much lol.

Okay, it's as I thought. It's not converting to black & white as per say, you are doing everything right, but it's actually because that's the best the palette conversion can do. Because of the especially pale blue that the image has, that grey is the nearest match it can make. You'll need to do something about the hues first in an external image editor to produce a different result, as Doom's palette simply doesn't have enough blues to maintain that image as is.
