Update 21-08:

 

* Started on map 14

* Updated some glitches in previous maps

* added more health and ammo pickups

Judging by the screenshots, I can tell they seem decent enough, even though I have yet to play the maps. I'll be waiting for your latest release!

Going to do a complete overhaul with detail.

I replayed a few maps and I am not happy with the look of some rooms.

 

going over all the maps and redo some of the texture work.

keep you updated.

 

In the latest release I saw map 10 is not completely finished.

I completed that one yesterday.

Hello, I've only played MAP01 so far, but noticed at least two bugs. (I know you might already have updates to these a while ago, but given this is the latest beta build we have, I'll go anyway.)

etrn03.png The lower linedef lacks a texture, causing a minor graphical glitch on the lower side

etrn04.png These two pinkies are stuck to each other, rendering them unable to move unless you kill one of them.

Also, my general advice in general would be to avoid giving the player a backpack early on, as it will make the maps far too easy by just collecting ammo all along. My advice would be to either put it on a challenging secret or to keep it for the harder difficulties.

Otherwise, I like what I'm playing so far. Really captures the essence of vanilla mapping. Although, since you mentioned making this for GZDoom, I think you could also test this mapset on other source ports, namely Chocolate Doom/CRL, Crispy Doom, and Eternity Engine, just to name a few.

Most recent version all has this fixed except the backpack I don't know that one for sure need to check that out for myself hahahaha

 

I hope you find the time to play the rest as well

 

I almost finished map 16 yesterday so will start on more maps soon!

Very traditional old school feeling Tech bases. Naming your maps and giving them custom music would give it more character

That will happen most-likely soon, when all of the levels are completed and fully functional, so the only hassle then would be the bugfixing and playtesting.
