Possible Community Project idea?

I'd love to try and make a map for something like this, I definitely think it's worth a shot to round up aspiring map creators. Reminds me of HROT.

I'm thinking more than just photos of architecture, what if you are given the Terminator Movie Poster and a picture of the plasma gun, what could somebody make with that..?

Probably a terminator inspired level with an early plasma rifle pick-up and maybe a shotgun.

I like the original idea of sending people photos of architecture then limiting them to using certain textures, including certain things from an image and having a mandatory map name. I feel as if people really let their creativity run wild when they are restricted to certain parameters.

Hah, I can think of a lot more than just that! A map where you are stalked by a cyberdemon for instance which you can only kill at the end with a crusher! Regardless, the idea of images to inspire creativity with restrictions may hold weight.

I feel as if a WAD set in a post-apocalyptic/hell invasion Russia would be incredible, specifically if you designed the combat to be less DOOM and more DOOM 3. Scarce ammo, barely any good weapons, high HP demons that encourage you to run as opposed to fight. At least for the first few levels. Could say you're just a survivor who needs to fight their way to a weapons cache, so you have that entire build-up to the actual DOOM gameplay where you find all the weapons, ammo, etc. Collecting plasma guns and cells off dead marines on the street would be interesting as well.

I've spent a lot of time in the former USSR/Yugoslavia going out of my way looking for cool brutalist and socialist-modernist architecture, so yes I'd maybe be down for this.  I have lots of nice concretey photos to contribute too lol.

I've recently bought a big book on soviet architecture...

What's the name of the book, friend? It looks very interesting.

There's gold in them thar hills!

I love the whole post-Soviet aesthetic, so combining that with goold ol' Doom combat sounds like a winning proposition to me!

If this thing becomes an actual community project, I'd love to get dibs on Map 1.

Brutalist Doom? Colour me interested. I don't think I could participate and bring anything worthwhile, but I like the idea.

I would participate :)

I am like 80% done with my Map for the Maximum Project and that would help me to for a new Project.

Edit: I am aiming for pure Doom 2 Compatibility, so every Comrade can enjoy it.

I'd participate but it'd likely take a long time for me to get a map done, and probably wouldn't even be that good ;)

I've never made any maps so I definitely wouldn't be able to contribute, but I would definitely want to play something like that
