Chezza Posted March 12, 2021 I listen to lore videos from certain youtubers who generally don't speak too loudly or add sound affects. Also the fan from my computer or in general helps for some reason. Alternatively, I come up with simple imaginative stories in my head, minimal narrative. Could be an assassin quietly listening to his target talking to someone in some fantasy world, or an alternate universe of where xenomorphs are less hostile and live in a jungle island on Earth where researchers try to cautiously study them. Maybe a scenario where someone is successfully hiding from danger. They entail lots of quiet observation within dangerous situations for some reason. Gets me sleepy. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
P41R47 Posted March 12, 2021 for me its the contrary, i want to stay awake. Its hard to not fall asleep. Not narcoleptic or something like that. Just tired as hell all the time. When i have spare time i want to play, listen to music, go out, get lucky, read a book, and zillion more things. I usually just sleep and have remorse of not doing anything after. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Stupid Bunny Posted March 12, 2021 18 hours ago, Doomkid said: I listen to guided meditation recordings (I can already hear the jeers and cringes from the crowd), they tend to be very helpful for me. Either that or I’ll play some old familiar “down home” YT nerd stuff that relaxes me, like danooct1 or early AVGN or something of that ilk. Actually basically all of this, there is something about watching old nostalgic videos that you've seen a billion times but still recall some warm old feelings that can put one in a good space before bed. Meditation is good too, not to be That Guy but making a habit of it really can improve how you respond to the brain's habit of never shutting the hell up Besides this, I sleep with white noise of some kind, to the point that unfortunately I don't sleep well without it. Also sometimes I pull out and read this manual I have for how to program a MOS 6502 microprocessor, it's interesting enough that I don't completely zone it out but dry enough that it doesn't actually hook me and keep me awake. Not to say that reading technical descriptions of processor opcodes will be interesting for everybody but you can find some kind of equivalent to distract your mind a bit 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chow Yun Thin Posted March 12, 2021 Man, just reading this thread makes me wanna climb into bed. I cut off any news-related media before dinner. I don't need that running through my head while I'm eating and decompressing afterwards before bedtime. I have medication that makes me drowsy, so I might as well take it before sleeping. Then I wash my face and brush my teeth while a space heater is running in the bathroom. I try to do this at the same time every night to get into a routine. When I'm in bed, I keep my room as dark as possible. No light save for a cheap digital clock with red LEDs and I'm usually facing away from it anyway. Once in a while I'll listen to (not watch) XboxAhoy's CoD weapon guides. Thankfully the gunfire and explosions are never loud enough to drown out his voice. Sometimes I imagine exploring around my house as a half-foot Lego robot I had as a kid. I'd go scavenging for spare parts, batteries, weapons and whatnot while trying to navigate the surroundings. Kinda like the rats maps from HL/CS. I appreciate rainy nights where I hear the rain tapping against the window while I'm comfortably cozy in a heavy blanket cocoon. I will admit that while I get 8-9 hours of sleep, it isn't the kind of sleep that leaves people refreshed and energized after waking up. I remember the feeling of it, but not the last time I felt it. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
