The switch now works - the next one in line though doesn't (the one with the gargoyle switch, in the small room marked by one of those red crosses.)

You mean this room? Yes i didn't re tag it so i'm doing it right now.

 

Edit: Ok i hope this is the last time i need to work on this, so i fixed the switch i also made more adjustments/reworked on some parts and trimmed the enemies down a bit more.  So here's the (hopefully) final version of it.

 

Map name: Cavern of sorrow

MIDI: Dark Hallways from Doom 1 (i changed it because E2M8 midi didn't really fit in the map)

Works/play tested on: LZ and GZDoom (i can't get crispy doom to work).

Map(s): MAP01 (this is MAP03 for the community project when placed in the map slot).

I really wanna hear the MIDI to the map when it's done. Is there any kind of style you're going to use or is it "it comes to me when i'm writing the midi"?

 

What i'm asking is is it going to be kinda of a ambient type of track or is it going to be like creepy/disturbing like the midi from Doom 1 called "there going to get you".

 

i'm asking because i don't write or make midis.

It could be either depending on what you think will fit. I play through maps I'm composing for usually just to get a feel for them so I end up being pretty on point (in theory), but I would be glad if you have a kind of MIDI in mind.

All i gotta say is play the map and see what would fit. Me since it's like a cave/cavern theme i would do something like ambient/dark melody style, but your the composer, do what you want.

I can keep High-Rise Roof for @xScavengerWolfx's map, and you can tell me for which map you'll want to write sth (check out the themes of each map, to give you a clue of the atmosphere they'll probably have)

 

If you want u can write sth for my map, which will be a prison map. I'd like sth moody, and slow :)

Do you have the midi file of that song? I would love to hear it. Also is the map working ok? If there's any more problem please let me know.

Nice. I'll probably check it out later.

 

So i played the beta, i saw my map is in! i was excised and that MIDI works for the map. I still thank you for giving me another shot and Masker for letting me rework his map. I feel like this was a big step (personally) in my mapping career. I can't wait for the next community project from you later down the road.

Okay so here's the second version of my map. I did a bit of rebalancing, added a few details and changed things up a bit, and I added some support for all three skill levels. I feel like I might have to go in one more time for some extra tweaking so I wanna hear what you guys think of it and what you think I should change.

I would probably add 5 more medkits, but that's because I'm a nitpicker :D

the map is fine as it is, so, when you feel u have the final version ready send it over, and I'll find a nice MIDI to add to it.

What did you think of the six maps? Also i played your map, it was fun and hard at the same time. The only thing i gotta say is where did you get that MIDI from? That midi was badass to listen to while blasting through the map, it almost reminded me of Chemical Valley by Bobaflex.

Oh - I misinterpreted your original post to mean you had map names in mind already! How about "Toxic Drain" or "Scum Vents"?

 

The MIDI is called At Albion's Gate, and is one I wrote myself (thank you, @xScavengerWolfx!)

I like Scum Vents - sounds like a Punk band name :D

Sorry for my absence, computer died on me. Lost all my work. Gonna have to start over again, still remember most of the layout of map. Just got my computer recently. I'll begin work on it shortly.

I was pretty close to done and allowing for others to playtest. Not the first time this happened, lel. No biggy, Just gonna have to back to work.

I'm so paranoid when it comes to wad creation, that I always have two backups of my work :)

Yeah it blows, but indeed! I should be able to get it close enough to what I had. It was a pretty neat looking map.

Yeah man! This will be the 4th time this has happened. One would think I would've learned my lesson by now, aha!
