I want to eat burger every day, but i'm afraid to get fat.

This will probably sound disgusting to a lot of people, but as an alternative to eating fast food like hamburgers, I'll make some beef or chicken broth with bouillon (or if I'm feeling lazy I'll buy some bone broth) and make oatmeal with it.

I started doing this once I realized that my favorite part of KFC was actually the breading and not the chicken itself. I think KFC's chicken actually tasted better back in the day when they used to torture their chickens and gave them growth hormones.

I know this probably sounds like poor people food, but it's actually really filling and somewhat healthy (unlike a lot of other poor people foods), and it satisfies that urge to waste money on junk food without actually wasting too much money.

I also sometimes use granulated beef bouillon instead of salt when I make french fries (added after frying and while on a dinner plate, of course, for safety). It reminds me of McDonald's fries from my childhood, before they went woke and started making vegan fries. The bouillon probably has a slightly lower sodium content that straight salt.

My dream order, this is high level.

I noticed that he didn't put any spices on any of that bland white people food. Where is the Lawry's Seasoned Salt? /troll

On a more serious note, that meal would be disgusting and unhealthy regardless of who was eating it.

You can eat whatever you want as long as you portion out the ingredients properly. I ate a homemade pizza every day for over a year and lost 70 pounds. Over the last 925 days I've eaten 650 homemade pizzas and still weigh <145 pounds.

Meme aside, at the end of the day, burgers are essentially sandwiches, which means that there is a lot of variety there, i.e. classic beef burgers, veggie burgers, fish burgers, etc. As long as you make them yourself and use varied, healthy ingredients as much as possible, you should be fine.

It also does not hurt to exercise on a daily basis to burn those extra calories. Going for a walk every day is not a bad habit to have.

1) Why the hell was this thread necro’d lol it’s so stupid

2) I kinda miss Ajora’s fast food advertisement posts..

3) I have lost some weight and am a lot healthier since this thread was started, partially by eating less fast food/burgers. I sacrificed my Greek-god-like physique, but you know, sometimes sacrifices have to be made.

This thread title has actually become part of my lexicon. I often discuss burgers with my wife and we'll be on the fence about if we should go get one two. I don't even have to finish the sentence, I just say "I want to eat burger every day" and she knows what I mean

Glad to see it back now with added chicken broth oatmeal, great

Well, if you do not mind me asking, what kind of Greek god are we talking about here?

If Disney's Hercules has thought me anything, it is that they come in all shapes and sizes. :P

See, what I do is that I just don't eat for most of the day, or week for that matter. Then eventually I do eat in a decent quantity at the end of the week.

I lost weight too. I cut the sugar out of the coffee and started walking more. Haven't had a soda in a month or so.

For me, it was the pandemic, albeit indirectly: I lost my job right before the lockdown started and since society at large had pretty much came to a screeching halt during that time, I have found myself with a lot of free time, which I used it to take long walks. I guess no longer having to stress about getting up early to spend an hour or so commuting did not hurt either. In total, I must have lost 10kg in the following six months!

The random crap some people dig up always amuses me.

I'm currently 23 and trying to buck the family tradition of males becoming overweight in their late 20s-early 30s.

I don't really worry about what I eat, I just maintain a certain level of portion control, and I only eat about two meals a day. I also mostly cook for myself, only eating out maybe once, twice a week? And it's usually something from the cheaper side of the menu too.

Add to that I try to maintain a certain level of morning exercises, 20 pushups, 25 situps, 2 km walk, etc. Simply in order to keep toned.

It takes more time out of your day, and the routine can grow tiresome, but you do feel a whole lot better in general and don't worry about your weight much.

I like turkey burgers without the bun. Throw some LTOP on it too so you're not abusing your anus too, too hard. Boca burgers ain't bad either if you're looking to scratch that itch without all the calories.

You sound a lot like me. I can go two or three days without eating anything more than a can of soup and some crackers. Then I'll order a 24" pizza on Sunday and eat it in a day. I've always been more of a pizza guy than a burger guy.

I've entered the wonderful world of crippling eating disorders and alcoholism. Eating anything greasy provokes a near instant hurling reflex. Can't get fat even if I want to. I'll just puke everything back out immediately. It's actually enough of a problem where I don't have enough bodily mass to reliably work full-days for prolonged amounts of time anymore (I work construction). Laying off the whiskey helps but not by much. Stomach ulcers are fun ...

Disclaimer: In case it needs to be said I'm not recommending alcoholism and eating disorders as a way to manage bodily weight.

This is baffling me in all honesty.

Also I've gained a couple of kilograms since last time. Which is actually a good thing because I'm constantly underweight

Go for it, if you cook it yourself.

Burgers are theoretically healthy foods: meat, bread, vegetables, some condiments. Ketchup (sugar) and bread (starch) are really the only things there that can be bad for you in large amounts.

I’ve never been fat in fact I tried to put on weight when younger. So as a naturally skinny person, I thought okay everything is fine. There are years of my life where 5/7 nights a week my dinner was 2 hamburgers.

Im fine; I worked out and never gained fat. But now I’m early 30s and I have high heart rate and blood pressure. No one who knows me thinks I’m out of shape; I’m basically skinny guy who started moderately weight lifting. But age kicks in and whatever I’m predisposed to kicks in and I’m sure that kind of diet doesn’t or didn’t help.

Great timing for this bump; by the "end" of the pandemic I'd gotten a bit fat. No one would notice and say "oh you look fat", just waist size had gone up, muscular definition disappearing, etc. So finally by my early 30s I know what it's like to accidentally gain weight. But there is a silver lining, I got back to gym, waist already shrinking, now I'm heavier than I ever thought I'd be back when I was trying to bulk 7-12 years ago, but also getting back in shape. So I guess it was sort of an accidental COVID bulk that pushed me across the threshold to "the next level" of weight gain I sort of wanted as a young, skinny lifter lol.

But yeah eventually you start getting fat I guess if you aren't careful. It comes for everyone one day it seems.
