Alot of those comments are either spam or repeated unfunny jokes, which we can universally agree suck, or flat-out objectively wrong, like comments advocating support for conspiracy theories. Repeated unfunny jokes don't suck, they're just unfunny. I don't think they should be removed. Ultimately the factor really IS that of you not liking them. >_> EDIT: oops wrong page Edited March 27, 2021 by Gustavo6046 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Final Verdict Posted March 28, 2021 Just avoid reading them. It's much like real life: you can never escape from them and you must learn to blend in. When you sense a village idiot/half-wit approaching (fear not, your instincts will alert you to their proximity) and it's too late to evade the encounter, follow these easy steps. Step 1: Affix your gaze upon their forehead. This will give the illusion that you are indeed making eye contact. Keep your stare steady on the point between the eyes and slightly above. Do not make true eye contact. Practice this technique on a household pet if needed. A dog, cat or hamster will suffice. Step 2: Nod your head in agreement until their mouths stop flapping. Remember to frown occasionally to signify you're listening intently. You're not, but try to pick up on the odd keyword just in case you get hit with the old 'hey! Are you listening to me?'. Then you can use said keyword to calmly defuse the situation. Try to pick up a keyword once every 60 seconds so that you don't fall behind. Step3 (optional): You can add personal touches to the last step. Such as scratching your chin in thought, or positioning your finger on your chin while cocking your head slightly to the left (feigning interest/curiosity). Then you have the master pose of tilting you head slightly while looking up into the sky, with narrowed eyes and forefinger curled and calmly resting upon your chin. I warn you, this takes a lot of practice to pull off. Only true masters of the art are capable of this ancient technique. Step 4: Think of happy, soothing thoughts until the anxiety and adrenaline pass. Remember to inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth, slow and steady. You absolutely must keep it together at this stage and remain calm and stress free. If they see you sweating or hyperventilating then they WILL show concern and ask questions. This must be avoided at all costs, or you will need to converse with them and answer questions. Further extending the social interaction you're trying to minimise or escape from. That's my 4 step guide to dealing with idiots. Eventually they'll meander off and you can then go about your day. Hmm, I just read that again and it sounds like a guide for a sociopath....moving on. Humour aside. I never pay much attention to YT comments. A few of them are childish yes, but the vast majority are just trying to get a laugh I think. I wouldn't read into them too much, some of them are a little over the top I admit. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
EpicTyphlosion Posted March 30, 2021 I've noticed my comments usually get removed within seconds if they have certain blacklisted words in them. Let's just say it makes commenting on drama and "exposed!!!1" videos difficult unless you choose your words carefully. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Cosmos Of Kings Posted March 30, 2021 On 3/26/2021 at 1:47 AM, amackert said: This has probably been addressed already (not reading through two pages worth of replies), but the responsibility of comment moderation is on the channel owner, not YouTube. YouTube does have spam protections in place, but everything else is fair game. If you see ridiculous comments on videos, it's because the channel owner (or in the case of big channels, its team) isn't bothering to remove them. Some channels don't even look at their comments, which has the obvious effect of all the garbage slipping through. Yep, Youtube gives the uploader four options for comment control: Disable comments, hold all comments for review, hold potentially inappropriate comments for review, or allow all comments. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
