algo Posted March 20, 2021 Mine looks terrible. How can I get it to look like Decino's for example? I think he also uses this port. Example: https://youtu.be/-XdcbGIXkwI I know he uses OpenGL setting, which I also want to use because I get the best performance out of it, but it looks so bad right out of the box for me. I've feebly tinkered with the settings to no avail. If anybody can help I'd be grateful. Also is there a way to scale down the classic status bar? Cheers. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
LincolnPark96 Posted March 21, 2021 Hi there, you can scale the status bar from the "General Options -> Status bar and menu appearence -> Doom format". This video explains a little more about the features of the source port in general, like the complevels and other things, in case you´re intersted: 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Shepardus Posted March 21, 2021 It'd help if you described more specifically or screenshotted what looks bad. Status bar scaling is controlled by "status bar and menu appearance" on the first page of "general" options. However, if you're trying to make it smaller, rather than controlling whether it's stretched across the full width of the screen or left in the 4:3 width with borders on the edges, then you're out of luck. Some settings to check are: Texture/Sprite/Patch filter mode (8th page of general options) - set these to None unless you like everything being blurry. Sector light mode (5th page of general options) - set this to Shaders, or to personal preference. This affects how light levels are handled in the OpenGL renderer, e.g. the falloff with distance. Assuming your GPU supports it, Shaders is generally the closest to the software renderer, but different people have different preferences on this. Gamma correction - Press F11 repeatedly while in-game to cycle through the different levels of gamma correction. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
