Gez Posted July 12, 2021 We try to pretend the fandumb wiki doesn't exist, and so should you. The real Doom Wiki is at DoomWiki.org. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

Note also that it's professional work. If Kaiser works on a Doom 64 update, he's not working on other projects for Night Dive. I thought, he's right now working on the long overdue Blood: Fresh Supply - Linux version? ;-) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted July 12, 2021 (edited) Last I heard about Fresh Supply, technical access to the game had reverted to Atari (Night Dive cannot touch it anymore) and Atari didn't care enough about it to let them make further updates. If you have a source about a Linux version coming up, I'd like to see it! :) Edited July 12, 2021 by Gez 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Still looking at getting that back. Kaiser isn't keen but I want to go back and do network and security updates at least. At the time when Atari asked for the store control there was no mechanism in Steam to allow a 3rd party to submit to the repo, that now exists so there's a possible way forward if/when we can get time to revisit it. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

I totally forget that a page that is totally writen by subjective viewpoints and assumptions and not facts at all still existed. Do you realice that you are talking with a developer? That he, as a fan of doom, too, also probably asked what you ask to the original developers? And that probably their answer was the same that Ed is giving you? This are facts, if the developers decided to leave them out, its their call. A few reload animations doesn't change if the game at all. Probably their answer was the same that Ed is giving me? Yeah and it probably isn't as well. Do you have a confirmation? If there is a confirmation i will accept it and move on. But everything we discussed about the matter is subjective viewpoints and opinions so far. There is no confirmation by the og developer. We just discuss things, why does it have to be so antagonistic for some people? I just posted how it looks to me, it's not a competition. Just say you disagree with my take and save the elitist tone. Cheers. Edited July 12, 2021 by TasAcri 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Cheers. Your questions were already answered, but well, you insist on your point. About the disagreeing, well, it was obvious since the beggining, and i didn't see any elitism on pointing out things that are clear. Sorry if you feel misstreated or something, nobody is againts you. And its not about antagonism, either, just that its kinda strange that, even after receiving an answer from someone that worked with the developers, a developer himself, you aren't satisfy enough. The matter at hand about the reloading animation was talked quite a number of times, pretty much as why some monsters didn't appear in the game, too. The developer decided on not having them in, thats the fact. Be it for space limit or be it an aesthetic choice. The game was re-released after long time, thats the important here, and we have to be grateful about it being a complete faithful port of it. Before that, we had nothing, and maybe the only way to play it was found used carts on sale or reprocarts out there. For me, a few animations that were never there in the first case, are the less important thing here. I already give my opinion on the matter here, too. And i see no point continuing by me, so go on if you like. I doubt that you will find a different answer about what you ask. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
