intro:

Hello fellow doomers its your favorite battle turtle. now recently I was planning on making a mod called cubed doom, the point was that each map was made to be made in only a certain field of building and it was (768,768). sadly it was canalled and no I'm making it into a committee project because I do not have enough creativity to make 32 maps.

rules:

rule 1) all levels must be in a 768,768 square.

rule 2) only one level per user, so no alt accounts.

rule 3) scripts are aloud but still must be in the square ( so levels where you fight an enemy and it ends when it dies is ok ).

rule 4) no level can end with a flor that ends the level when your health reaches a certain amount.

rule 5) the level must be beatable by pistol start.

rule 6) don't ask to have your level in a certain place ( so make each level map01 and ill edit it ).

rule 7) wad you submit cant have any other items in it like a new weapon or a new enemy.

rule 8) post files in the thread.

rule 8) you must make maps in the doom 2 iwad.

rule 9) must be zdoom, lzdoom, gzdoom compatible.

end:

Alright I told you the rules so lets get the show on the roll. Sorry if I sound like I'm a complete asshole who wants to make other people do his work.

You're missing a couple specifics still. What's the IWAD? Map format?

Also, March 30th was 12 days ago.

I told you that

Where? I don't see any mention anywhere in your OP whether the maps should be made in vanilla, Boom, ZDoom-Hexen, UDMF or whatever other format.

You mean "allowed" instead of "aloud", but I still don't get this rule properly... What does this mean? Putting script activator lines? Scripted things?

Map format?

Since in the rules the author says about "script", i suppose it's for zdoom / gzdoom compatible ports? But only the author knows about it....

Generally, when starting a community project you'd have a map of your own completed to a) show the style b) show you've put in some effort. Have you got any of your maps started or completed yet?

That's still a few map formats.  You could use scripts in both Hexen and UDMF format.  I'm going to guess that "as long as it runs with gzdoom" is the rule of thumb?

Guys even the maps are in various formats, the engines can still run them from the same wads or the pk3.... Am I wrong? So how about not trying to get everyone stuck in one map format and let them use whatever they like?

UPDATE: no more deadline since no one is posting

It would probably help if you gave people a little more inspiration. Besides your showcase level (which has no screenshots), all you have is a list of strict (albeit vaguely explained) rules in a post rife with misspellings and grammatical errors.

The first thing I look at before joining a CP is the post itself. If the author can't even be arsed to make their post look decent, why should I assume their maps and overall handling of the project will be handled with passion and care?

Suggestion:

Write up a new OP with some screenshots of your map (which I will check out shortly) and explain your rules in a more coherent fashion.

Your 'showcase map' is a bit underwhelming. I would definitely advise you to get some more experience making any sort of maps for a while, and becoming a bit more known in this community, before attempting to run a community project. Plus, the misspellings and grammar errors give the impression that this isn't something that you're prepared to put a lot of effort in to in general.
Projects based around making a map under a certain size limit have been done before, and I'd recommend checking them out for some inspiration:

Claustrophobia 1024

Claustrophobia 1024 2

Congestion 1024

MAYhem 2048

2048 Unleashed

Your specific choice of 768 units is probably not advised - it's too large to be considered a 'fun' novelty at this stage (like Congestion 64 maybe) but also too frustratingly small to really get anything creative into it.
