I was wondering how stuff like the title screens and M_DOOMs were made because some like the TNT and Plutonia ones look cool as heck. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
P41R47 Posted April 11, 2021 I made most of the art for CPD with just Photoshop CS3 and a zdoom to take some panoramic photos ingame. Do take note that, if you are aiming to make them vanilla compatible, you should make them on the format and the dimensions (width and height) of the vanilla format, or else, it would crash. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

Doom_Dude Posted April 13, 2021 I mainly use an older photo editing program called Arcsoft PhotoMax Pro that came with a scanner or printer some 20 years ago. Unfortunately it's no longer available. I also use Gimp, Paintshop Pro, Wally, and Paint. jval's Wad Painter program works well too. I haven't used it for titlepics yet but it's great for making textures and there's no reason you can't use it for making a titlepic... at least the background. Then you can use another program to add text or some bump mapping in Gimp or whatever. Experiment with different programs. The olde Wally program that was made for working with Quake textures is good for shifting a texture left, right, up and down, adding bullet holes, scratches, drawing darker / lighter lines, etc... Protip: You can download a Doom font and add that to your computer's font files and then use it to make Doom style text using Photoshop or some other program. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
