KILLA DIO Posted April 17, 2021 I know this is a weird request but does anybody have any tips on making hexen style castles and other medieval builds, I've been really struggling and I'd love some help 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

ReX Posted April 18, 2021 9 hours ago, KILLA DIO said: mainly overall design For which DooM format are you editing your map? If you use GZDooM (or other source ports that support 3D floors and portals) your design choices are greater, allowing you to create more realistic-looking architecture. Even with non-3D support you can make decent-looking castles, but you get fewer design choices. 9 hours ago, KILLA DIO said: texture usage in larger areas Are you looking to use DooM/2 textures? Or are you using a custom texture set? Even with DooM/2 textures, you can edit the TEXTUREx lump to get wider textures using existing DooM/2 patches. If you're using a source port that supports tall textures, you can create varied textures that are both wide and tall. This will make the textures less repetitive. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
